Just changed me caravan, and its got A.T.C. which needs a 12v permanent feed to run it. Does anyone know where I can pick this feed up cuz mine has'nt got one

The battery is 13.8v not 12v, It will drop to 10 ish at start up and rise to 15 ish when being charged.
If 13.8 is ok use rear cig socket if its perm. feed. David.

That's what I was going to say, the socket in the boot is probably a permanent live, mine is :thumb2

hi if youve got twin electrics/ battery charger why not take it from the split charger relay, if the boot socket isnt constant live

Thats a good idea as some boot sockets aren't live with the ignition off.David.

HI I am a long time caravanner, what is ATC? If you have twin towing sockets the 12s (white) socket should have a permanent live on terminal 4. regards bri

ATC simples All Terrain Caravan...

OR Alko Trailer Control

Can ATC be retrofitted to my caravan?

Yes, ATC is retrofittable to most caravans with AL-KO chassis.

Where does ATC get its power from?

ATC is connected to the caravan distribution box and the supply is provided by the constant live (pin 4) from the grey 12S plug.

How much power does ATC require?

When ATC is activated, it instantly draws 15 amps and must take priority over any other 12 volt equipment using the same pin – I.E. caravan battery charger.

Can ATC also be fitted on caravans with a (7-pin) plug?

Yes. The system requires the use of electrical connections from the 12S(grey) plug. It also works with caravans fitted with the new 13-pin plug.

Where does the LED need to be fitted?

Near the overrun device on the front fairing.

Do the brake lights function when ATC is activated?

No. The ATC brakes the caravan and car softly. The driver will feel when ATC has activated.

Does ATC need maintenance?

No the system is maintenance free.

How do I know that ATC is ready to use?

As soon as the 7-pin plug is connected to the towing vehicle, the ATC completes a pre-flight test. The function status is shown via a green LED on the overrun device.
Green (or flashing green) = ready for use.
Red = ATC not functioning, but car can be driven.
Flashing red = caravan brakes are applied. Car and caravan should not be driven.

How do I recognise that the ATC system is working in the car?

Soft braking is noticed in the car.

or you could load your caravan properly drive within the speed limits and slow going down long hills. regards bri

It's brakes then.

A type of anti lock brakes, but to brake one wheel more to help prevent snaking I think:nenau

It means you can drive faster, and overtake lorries in strong winds, that you wouldn't normally do, because of common sense. I don't think so !!!!!

But in the right hands, it can reduce the chances of snaking.

all it does is apply all caravan brakes so streching the car caravan combi so reducing the snake it has sensors to tell it when the tail starts to try and wag the dog:lol

Learn to load and drive a car/trailer unit properly and you will not need to risk your life on some crap electronics that can fail due to corrosion, condensation, low volts , etc, I make sure my combo is loaded right and can tow at over 70 with no problem at a gross over over 4.2 tonnes, if I start to snake even the slightest I will stop and redistribute the load, no problem, Rick

Automatic Trailer Controle

I have not got perminant live at my twin electric socket evan on pin 4, it only comes live with the ignition likewise with the socket in the boot.
When I park up & turn the ignition off for a toilet or lunch stop there is no power to the van from me truck.
So if I have not got perminant live in the boot where els can I get it from?

I agreee, when I tow my boat it's gross is over 2 tonne, on a 4 wheeled trailer.
Total length of trailer 26 feet. It tows as straight as an arrow, and it loves to go at 70, but it takes concentration to keep it at 60.
AND I only have the Td.

I don't think the electronics would like submersing in 2 feet of water ....:augie

I wonder how the ATC would perform after a blowout, if it is guaranteed to save a rollover then an excellent piece of kit, but I wouldn't think you will get this in writing from the manufacturer.:doh

That's why I bought a twin axle trailer.:thumbs
Just in case.

I only get power when I turn on ignition, it would be handy to have perminant power in the boot as well
