happy xmas guys,

just popped out in the truck and i hav a problem when i put my foot down when in gear say 3rd and get round to 3000rpm the engine goes flat and wont rev past it and if i keep my foot down it puffs out a bit of white smoke ! and because i can hear the air being sucked in now due to the snorkel being fitted it sounds like it gets to 3000rpm and is sucking hard then all of a sudden the sucking noise from the snorkel goes quiet like someone has squeezed the pipe together and stopped any air getting through then like a i say it puffs out a bit of white smoke.

no warning lights on dash


could it be a maf ?

checked the fuel pump for mini filter couldnt find one in the pump or in the banjo

cleaned maf with contact cleaner

its a 97' lwb 2.7tdi model


any ideas guys

unplug the maf, go for a drive, if its the same, its the maf, if its worse, its something else...

hi mate when i accelerate it feels like its kangerooing along the road i will try the unplug theory tomorrow
