Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Thanks - delighted to have it rolling. Next steps, I think, is to the get someone qualified to poke about and make sure the chassis is sound. Assuming all is good, I was thinking of getting the underneath of her shotblasted and coated. It has spent all of its road life in Ireland, so a lot...

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Boom! New cylinders fitted and she is working like a charm. Was hoping to take her for a spin for the first time tonight, but herself was having none of it! Will save that pleasure for tomorrow.

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Cylinders bought and received. Will start swapping them out over the weekend.

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

There is no forward / reverse travel in the rod. This is suggesting a knackered slave cylinder? Edit: Having googled the price, I think I may just replace both master and slave cylinders. It seems they are cheaper than a mid spec vacuum kit.

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

The weekend didn't go to plan, so only got to this tonight. I pumped it 130 times, opening the bleed valve on the slave by hand, depressing clutch, closing it (finger tight), returning clutch to original position. Repeat. No change that I could see. However, when the clutch is depressed the...

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Thank you everyone - herself will be deputised to the project!

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

This may be the issue - I thought to bleed it you pumped the clutch a few times, then slacked the bleed nipple, but it seems there is a slightly different process. I will look for a run off the main rigid pipe and see if there is a junction also. Hopefully, this yields better result. If not...

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Hello, The Mav that I'm restoring had a dead clutch - no pressure at all in the pedal and it just flopped. Getting under the car, I could see that when I removed the flexihose from the slave cylinder, it was dry and no fluid was coming out, this was despite the plenty of fluid in the master...

    Fuel Delivery Help [1994 2.7TD]

I'm guessing this has to be a reasonably standard part, one that was on plenty of nissans, so should be gettable. I think (hope!) the rigid pipes are fine, and either way it is probably worth replacing the hose anyway. Thanks for the steer, will check with the local guys.

    Fuel Delivery Help [1994 2.7TD]

Thanks Jim. Are those flexi hoses hard to source? I can remove it from the slave, but the nut which is locking it to the rigid pipe (feed from master) is seized and starting to ring when I get a wrench on it. Time, I think, to break out the vice grips but I don't want to do that until I have...

    Fuel Delivery Help [1994 2.7TD]

Got it going. Bought an inline hand pump, and used that to bring the diesel up from the tank. Saw there was something off with the filter housing, as the diesel wasn't passing through the filter, but was leaving via the water drain. Stripping the housing and the water drain, cleaning them and...

    Fuel Delivery Help [1994 2.7TD]

Thank you both. Will check this. Haven't gone near the rear diff oil yet. I want her turning over properly before I start messing with movement, and all the hassle that will entail!

    Fuel Delivery Help [1994 2.7TD]

Hello, I'm new here, and new to Mavs. I have an old barn find (1994 Ford Mav, 2.7d), and have changed all fluids and filters bar coolant (will do that soon), changed the battery and she cranked up fine. I haven't changed the little fuel filter which is really hard to get at near the high...
