anyone ever got to the bottom of this problem? -96 mistral 2.7td import wont shift into top gear,kickdown and o/d button on t shift not working-have changed ecu to no effect.i am sure its a common problem as it is on pajeros but cant find anyone who knows the cure -help !!!!

once ecu fitted should have solved -if not will continue to post progress in order it may help someone not to be completely baffeled -as we were auto boxes not our thing.........weve had 150 mistrals up to now, all auto yet theres always a new fault awaiting discovery.......well i suppose thats...

up to now all sensors operating correctly - the faults is in the main ecu nothing at all wrong with sensors or auto box !!!!!!! wish we had a fault code reader !! :smile: :smile:

temp sensor seems ok - have sent to automatic specialists for diagnostic plug in -will post result if succesfull my moneys on the speedo sensor -well see 8)

thanks - done that bit - more complicated problem trying to get fault codes to identify where sensors/solenoids located know theres one on pump /one on temp sender /one on speedo ,that tell it when to go into top trying to loctate other two - seems to be a common problem but cant find anyone...
