    Wing removal

Thanks for all replies. I didn't have problems with the nats, and the radio is a fascia removal type, so no code. I got the job done eventually. The rear top of the wing was held firm by a small bit of sealant and prised up with a screwdriver. I never found the front fastener on the wing ...

    Wing removal

It's round headlight Terrano 2. I have taken the one out under the bit of rubber, but still no movement. With regards other responses, how do you do it without removing the wing. It's all a bit tight under there

    Wing removal

My screen washer hasn't been working for a while so I got a replacement from a scrap yard. I tried to remove my wing today to do a swap, but having removed all visible bolts etc the wing still remains firmly attached at the back end at the bottom corner of the windscreen , and somewhere at the...

Water leak in front wheel arch

BigBlack,a picture of the drain hole would be helpful, thanks.

Water leak in front wheel arch

Thanks for all the replies. I think BigBlack has got it right. The drip only occurs after I have been out in it and then dries up. Don't think it is the coolant, as there doesn't appear to be any loss, and the temp guage is running as per normal. Presumably if I want to have a look at the washer...

Water leak in front wheel arch

No air con apart from sun roof. It doesn't smell particularly of anything, and I can't say that it's slimy, John

Water leak in front wheel arch

Hello, I've recently noticed a small pool of water forming in front of the front off-side wheel. It does not happen all the time, just occasionally. I had a look under the wheel arch and saw that the water is dripping from the very front, so that the drop just misses the front of the wheel. I...

Ratchety chattering noise from front in 4WD

Thanks for assistance everyone. Just to let you know, I think the problem has been solved. I had a couple of new tyres fitted at the front for the MOT, which were the same size as the back two. Previously I had 215/80/15 at the front and 235/75/15 at the back. I then decided to give it a try in...

    Terrano rot boxes?

I don't mind getting the welding done properly so that it will last, only worried in case worse rust appears elsewhere in the near future. I don't think mine was a parralel import, as I have the original documentation and it came from a Nissan dealer. I think the Terranos were manufactured in...

    Terrano rot boxes?

That's what I thought, but obviously tester thinks differently. Would appear not to be an unknown problem in view of all the replies. However, at the moment it doesn't seem to be terminal, so I'll probably shell out my 300 notes and get another year's use. Resignedly, John

    Terrano rot boxes?

Just had my 98 Terrano for an MOT and it failed on rust at inner and outer sills on all four corners within 30cm of a suspension point - or something like that. Also rust in front wheel arch within 30 cms of suspension. Is mine an exception, or are they all like that? The garage person said...

Ratchety chattering noise from front in 4WD

Hello, for obvious reasons I've been running my Terrano 2 in 4WD a lot lately. It performs fine when the road is totally snow covered, but as soon as I get to a wet bit of road where snow has melted I get the above noise, particularly when easing off the throttle on the run over. I then have to...

    Terrano SWB rusty sills

Hello, The drivers side sill on my swb 1998 Terrano has rusted through in front of the back wheel ,nearly up to the seam where the door begins, ( about a foot in length). Does anyone know if there are any manufactured panels available for this small section or do you have to cut some bits out...

Knocking from the rear. Possibly LSD

Hello, I have a Terrano SWB R reg. Last week I became aware of an intermittent clunking from the rear, which seemed to fit in with what had been said on this site about the need to change the LSD oil. I did that , using an LSD 90. The oil that came out was pretty grey and grubby, and the drain...

    215 R 15 100Q tyres OK for Terrano 2?

Thanks Matt. I've put the full set of 215 s on. What it has done is get rid of the steering wheel judder at about 50 plus, that has been there since I got the car. That, despite of having had the wheels balanced ,tracking done, new tyres on front, hubs tightened. Surprisingly it was the back...

    215 R 15 100Q tyres OK for Terrano 2?

At the moment I have a set of 235 75 15 tyres fitted, but also have a set of partly used 215 R 15 which I am thinking of fitting, just to wear them out and get rid. Will they be appropriate for a 1998 Terrano 2 that does mainly road work pulling a horse trailer, Thanks, John

    Brake pad change

Thanks Toolbox, I did the other side the next day, so all is equal. The pedal doesn't become firm no matter how many times I pump, so I think it is the master cylinder seals, although I was fairly gentle with the pedal when I first pumped it back up. Presumably Nissan sell seal kits, they did...

    Brake pad change

I actually used a pair of plumber's pipe grips to get the pistons in. They went in easy enough, but on completion the brake pedal feels very very spongey. Bollocks :( . Could it be air has got in the system or have I jiggered up the master cylinder seals ? Should have just stuck to changing the...
