    Rear Brake problem

Hi all, Many thanks for your replies, where would I find these valves, I cannot find the restriction valve which on many vehicles reduces the load to the rear brakes. :nenau Cheers Rich

    Rear Brake problem

Hi all, I took my Terrano ( long wheel base ) 2.7TDI to the garage today because I am really scratching my head. When I brake gently there is no problem but a little more than gentle then the off side rear wheel locks up momentarily then releases, this is particularly noticeable in the wet...

    back brakes lockup

Many thanks all, Apologies for not replying sooner - some reason my password was being rejected??? anyhow - she's a 2005 so as has been said by elty001 - the device is unlikely to be there, I've had another look but I can't see it. I renewed my front discs and pads 6months ago...

    back brakes lockup

Hi all, Subject of the thread explains it really. On a dry road I don't have a problem but in the wet it feels like the back brakes are hyper sensitive and lock up easily. A guy I work with tells me there is a pressure limiting device which is in line with the rear hydraulic circuit ..... I...

    Replacing engine air filter

Not changing the pollen filter causes a restriction in the air flow which causes the heater resistor pack to get hotter due to the excess drag on the motor pulling more current due to restriction thus more load - this is compounded by less air flow over the resistor pack and so not sufficiently...

    ABS Sensor

Just an update on my ABS sensor - today I made a brass shim ( rather like a brass washer) out of a bit of 6mm brass plate I had kicking around. I don't suppose it has to be brass but it's the right thickness and it's what came to hand. This allows the sensor to be bolted to the hub offset (...

    ABS Sensor

Got that exact part infront of me Part number 703377 with 42mm from bracket to tip of sensor. It didn't fit mine, the sensor is too long and jamms the hub. :( My Terrano is 05 plate 2.7TDI

    Beware ABS sensors

I can't put the two parts side by side because the old one eventually came out in a million bits by drilling and using a hammer and old screwdriver along with a certain amount of bad language ( almost as good as plus gas) The part number of the new part that is too long and fouls the ABS ring...

    Beware ABS sensors

Hi People, I decided to buy a new front off side ABS sensor from flea bay, I asked the dealer if it was compatible, he took my registration and later that day he replied that it is. Today when I came to fit it, there was absolutely no problem, it went in O.K and I tightened up the small bolt...

    4x4 Advice

This is one of those rare occasions where I actually read what not to do and therefore prevent it occurring in the first place rather than come on here after it's done and asking you guys how to fix it.:thumbs

    Front Disc change

It was a real pain getting that out but had to because it's nacked :( I went to our trusty motor factors today to enquire as to the price of a new off side front sensor. When the guy said 192+ vodka and tonic :eek::eek::eek: I went into tunnel vision and my wallet made a grab for my leg...

    Front Disc change

Success .....almost Many thanks to Rick for the excellent description, I did the deed earlier this evening and I don't know what I was afraid of. I went to our local motor factors and bought discs and pads ( came to £95 inc vat ..... may have paid a bit much there :doh ). On the way home from...
