Have had my clutch damper pipe disconnected now for some time after it started leaking down by the rear right wheel. No problems since except for an annoying rumble /vibration noise when changing up a gear. Was wondering if anybody had renewed their's, didyou make a new one up or was it a bought...

Originally removed the pipe because it started to leak badly. Sounds like a deep rumble sound as the clutch is depressed but only during change ups. No real difference to the feel of the clutch just this rumbling noise that I have soon gotten used to.

Local garage done the job, it was a simple blanking piece that screwed on to the block where the pipe was removed from.

That would explain why my clutch grumbles a bit now i have removed the damper pipe.

Would it still pass an MOT?

Hi All. Trying to pre-empt my MOT due in Feb, the drivers seat belt is frayed and I think it would fail. Is the job straight forward or do I have to be aware of anything? Could anybody recommend anywhere that I could get a replacement? Thanks in advance.

Yep, My remaining half of the spring seems to be holding up, so I'll leave it like it is. I suppose if it finally goes I could allways bodge it with a Bungie, one end to the pedal the other hooked over the dashboared lip!!!!! LOL

Daveamac Just had my pipe removed for the same reason, like you I get a noise now when I operate the clutch, mine is a low rumbling sort of sound and like yours it is more pronounced on change ups. I would think that it would be a bit of a coincidence for both release bearings to be on the way...

Been and had a look at mine pulled out a coil of the spring which had broken. can these be replaced?

About .70p from screwfix, but available from any plummers outlet apparently.

Tend to agree with those suggesting the rear difff oil, mine was behaving similar, changed the rear diff oil and problem gone

Re removing the damper pipe, how would you blank of after removing the pipe, can you get a blanking pipe etc?
