    Hi all

Now that sounds like a damn good plan....hmmmm
  2. eminox

    Hi all

Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying, MOT could be expensive even if she's owned it for the past 9 years. Still fancy a challenge though, but how much of a challenge the old one's gonna present is an open-ended question!! Have yet to see the newer one, but being a 3.0 already puts me off for...

    Hi all

Thanks, but I need a LWB, dog and young son amoungst other things. I have two to choose from, the P reg 1997 that's advertised for £1500 but am gonna offer £1000, but I won't be doing anything until I've seen the 2002 3.0 SVE I've got coming my way for possibly £3500, think my mind is made up...

    Hi all

Well, either way, parts are relatively inexpensive which makes the thought of owning a Terrano II more appealing, that and putting veggie oil through the 2.7....well I seem to be even seeling the idea to myself..lol

    Hi all

Ah, right, was gonnay say, still a good price and I dount the drums need replacing that often, just the shoes. That europarts website is pretty informative, makes the decision process a hell of alot easier know I can get cheap parts online etc...I like it :)

    Hi all

For disc, drums and pads, the hole lot? Still a bargain!!
  7. eminox

    Hi all

Wow, pads and disc's only around £50, just cost me £200 for a set for the vectra, front and rears !!!
  8. eminox

    Hi all

Ok, so as a rough guestimate, how much would the following cost to have done? Full service Brakes (pads and discs) 2 x Tyres MOT Tax (gonna be £245) Just so I have some ammo when I call them back. Cheers

    Hi all

Oh yeah, and the wheels were seriously corroded, needed shot balsting and painting etc, also the discs were fairly worn, which makes me think they need doing also, so £1k is about right me thinks.

    Hi all

Right, just had a look at a P reg 2.7 SE, 140k on the clock, MOT and Tax running out next month, two tyres needed on the back, last owners had it for past 9 years, tidy motor I suppose but needs some tlc, undersealing, a few rust spots to be sorted, bodywork ok, engine started perfectly from...
  11. eminox

    Hi all

    Wise words.
  12. eminox

    Hi all

Hmm, saw that one before, but then when you start spending on kits etc to get it running on veggie oil then to me it then takes a good while to recoup the initial expense. I can see the long term benefits if fuel prices continue to rise, but then just stick to biodiesel etc.
  13. eminox

    Hi all

Really....WOW :thumbs My only concern is reliability, that was my original reason for joining this forum, having a wholly unreliable vectra and being offered that 3.0 sve. I really like the idea of cheap motoring, but don't want to get a bag of spanners or have veggy oil start to introduce...
  14. eminox

    Hi all

Am going to, tonoght hopefully. Would I need one of those heater kits and a second derv tank to run on 100% svo?
  15. eminox

    Hi all

Hmm, starting to lean towards the 2.7 more, and there's an L reg 2.7TDi SE 13 miles away from me for £1500 ono....that'll take veggy juice :)...140k on the clock and mot next month as well!!
  16. eminox

    Hi all

Right, I can understand now why there's so much more about the 2.7 than there is about the 3.0! Cheers for your advice though :)
  17. eminox

    Hi all

One other thing that I've come accross, is the 3.0 a straight 4 cyl engine or a V6? From what I've read etc it's a straight 4, but still wonder. Cheers
  18. eminox

    Hi all

Yep, checked Parkers and it's £245/annum from April 2010, which is what the Vectra has increased to anyway, so both seem to linked road tax wise...better than £400 odd for the newer vehicles :o
  19. eminox

    Hi all

I thought being a 2002 model, the tax would be around the £245 mark, or has salesman told me wrong?? Anything will do really, so long as it's comfortable, reliable, fairly cheap to run and won't break the bank! The more I look the more things don't seem that simple after all!
  20. eminox

    Hi all

Right, been informed that the 3.0 model will only run on 50:50 bio:diesel mix at the most, no veggy at all, but seeing as it does more mpg than the 2.7 then it all probably evens out cost wise I would have thought. Still gonna have a look at it when it comes in, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
