oh no!!!!!!! still having problems starting from cold ,eventually starts up to a bloom of smoke , some days ok some not ? i have noticed a bang after starting sounds like a flap or sonething arond the turbo area ? garage stumped so they are getting a diesel specialist to look at it tomorrow...

I dont think dealers like general public having part numbers , because most parts are common across all models , and can charge more for different models :eek:

I have 99 plate tdi no mini filter on pump , although there is a small filter located next to the fuel tank i discovered by chance , not sure if on flow or return pipe , i am going to replace when get round to it ,

i have always used blueprint brand filters , they are also light blue in colour get them from local jap motor factor . not sure if same as you mention , but never had any problems with them .

just what i thought , tbh i would have never suspected barrel , so sometimes just have to bite the bullet .

ours always go up on 1st december , i thought that was early. up and down ladder all day , but keeps wife & kids happy:nenau

well garage just brought truck back new barrel ,(well electrical side) fitted fired up straight away , hopefully now sorted:thumb2 wallet £90 lighter :(

i know the barrel isn't great cause you can take the key out when running , also a few times you can hear the audible noise of the glow plug starter timer , sometimes when i turn the ignition off

yeps VERY VERY slowly.... your sending me back to sleep :D starter motor does engage and spins over well , but think must be the contacts on ignition on point just before the next one to start the engine . took the truck to his garage now . luckily really decent chap and trustworthy so...

had a problem with poor starting on my 2.7 tdi due split diaphram in fuel priming pump . well replaced that running like a dream since then . 3 weeks ago .... wife goes to take kids to school yesterday morning just kept turning over and would,nt start. gets me out of bed ! ( am on nights...

if your near burton on trent . I use a motor factor called Foreign Autoparts . only deal in jap parts ,used them for years and they know what there talking about . if part not in stock will get in couple of hours .

or just buy a caravan :D

dosen't the priming head also have a 1 way valve (diaphram)to keep the pump side pressurised , i know fuel getting through cause it does start eventully just seems to take a while to pull through . if i eliminated the filter housing and just connected the hoses together from the filter head...

thank you for reply timbo . i've just had a look and can hear the bubbles of air coming from top of plunger . going to work in bit , got to use the wifes car.

filter is on as tight as can get it , even after running the priming pump goes soft , pump it and goes solid again :naughty it just seems that it wont hold any pressure.

well checked all earths and connectors all seem ok . today a real pain to start even when warm, so my next thought is fuel . since the problem has mainly started since the fuel filter change im thinking that the diaphram in the priming pump has split , the filter is on tight , does anyone have...

sorry for late reply working nights and just got up :( well , freezing cold this morning when came out of work , fired up on the button , i did think glow plugs were causing as only happens when cold . so guess that fine. I just run on diesel dont use bio fuel . from the cloud of smoke...
