    i think you may be wrong about that, the throtle valve is part of the egr system, nothing to do with engine stopping, not sure where that came from. it is in the manual, with full description. page 431 The ECM receives signals sent from the engine coolant temperature sensor, crankshaft position...

    from personal experience, with VAG, renault and others, I have never been convinced with ecu based tests for MAF’s/MAP’s, as unless real odd readings, sense could be true. On VAG 1.9TDI to get VAG tool to show error, it had to be open or s/c. a failing one never showed, and that is main dealer...

    i have before "changed" the fuel temp sense voltage, to great effect! ecu thinks hot fuel is less dense, so compensates, with more fuel.:naughty seems to work over complete range, might be woth doing?

    i saw that opamp idea on the rover site, the bloke who posted it, is now marketing at £100 ish? just ups the game from standard, i guess at 5v it just max out, cant get more ?

    the supply? in that case, anyone tried a diode from supply to ecu sense wire? should give 5v less about 0.6v out. how would the ecu react to that at tickover?

    the 4th gear up hill test? i wouldnt try the diode one, only ever done it on vw's. i think the terrano is 12v feed to maf, output would be ttl 5v maximum i guess, i will look at it tomorow. on some cars with maf removed car goes to basic "map" on ecu, i guess with terrano it goes to limp mode...

    MAF sensor. best way to test, drive up a hill in a high gear 4th ish. this at lowish speed loads engine the most, if symptoms get worse or are at worse, change maf.

    Hello, re primera 2ltr petrol p11 model 97 99. use part number off Hitachi maf, end’s 200, same part! later maf, Bosch has inlet temperature sensor as well, hence extra wires on connector. I haven’t tried it, but I do wonder if it may be possible to retro fit a Bosch on the Hitachi...

    mini filter in mine, and i believe others, was for some odd reason in the return pipe, not the inlet, but yes in the banjo not the pump. also, the disconecting MAF, just proves it is not completly gone, not that is failing. trade test, drive up a hill3rd gear, does it feel at its very worse...
