    Gauges instead of ashtray

Fellow oatcake scoffer - hurrah. They seem to be fine as they only need the odd glance but it makes use of a dead space. I'd peep you if I saw you if I could get my horn to sound less hamster sneezing like lol. I brought two alledged 110 decibel ones oiff eblag and they dont sound any better:eek:

    Terrano bike rack

I looked at these and thought the spare wheel would prove an issue? Also the ones that mount on the spare wheel - would the weight be bad for the back door? our bikes are a Kona for the missus so pretty light weight and Ive got a Carrera Banshee so again not real heavy.

    Terrano bike rack

Hi Banshee - sounds great as the missus realy wants us to take the bikes out at weekends. I am hopeless at haggling so pm me what you want for it - I see you are west mids so be easy enough to collect as Im only in Stoke?

    Gauges instead of ashtray

well as I don't smoke I have removed the ashtray and put an extra water temp gauge and voltage gauge in its place. I used a section of white cable conduit screwed into the holes where the ashtray mounted. I did the front of it with carbon fibre wrap and bolted the gauges to this conduit. Wires...

    Terrano bike rack

Hi everyone Im after a bike rack for the back of my terrano - tow bar or rear wheel so we can go further afield when going for bike rides than the local paths as the little uns bike will go in the boot but no room for mine and the misses bikes?

Whistle while it works - why?

Banshee I think the wife would think it an excellent test lol:clap

Whistle while it works - why?

so if I get a better flexi section my whistling days should be over? maybe if I get down under the car whilst its revved (the wife knows where the insurance docs are) it might show this as the point in question?

Whistle while it works - why?

MMmmm food for thought, if its not an issue I could leave it but it is a bit annoying when travelling and not sure a whistling car would keep the wife happy when we drive France this year lol, now if it did a tune that would be diferent:augie

Whistle while it works - why?

Im going to get both calipers off and clean the pistons and give them a good service and have new pads ready to go on - don't get me wrong it stops fine but when dealing with 2 tonne of metal having it at its peak always helps lol

Whistle while it works - why?

OOoooh never thought of that, the previous owners had the whole exhaust system replaced last year so didnt think it would be an exhaust issue

Whistle while it works - why?

Well I changed the belts when I replaced the water pump but I seem to have a slight whistle when the engine hits 2.5K. It seems to come from the engine bay front right and doesn't change in intensity past this in the rev range. I am going to service my brakes as they pull slightly to the right...

Dual Water Temp Gauges - issue?

According to the link the thermistors have multiple connectors and you use these to test them but this comes with a single terminal connector like the one in the engine block? I might connect it to the actual cylinder head like you advised and see what it shows? it wont hurt if I try numerous...

Dual Water Temp Gauges - issue?

So not as easy as Id hoped, I don't trust the existing sensors hence wanting a nice accurate lcd model - might just place it somewhere on the head to register engine temperature unless as you advise I can split a pipe somewhere and put a metal part in between with the sensor threaded into the...

Dual Water Temp Gauges - issue?

Well as I dont smoke I have removed the ashtray out of the Terrano and made a bracket and fitted a blue led temp gauge (52mm in black) as this leaves me room for a Voltage gauge to be mounted next to it. I have ran the power in and an extra wire from the existing sensor next to the thermostat...

2.7 or 3.0 Terrano which is best

depending on age I went to look at loads that had rotten inner and outer rear sills as water gathers here but Id imagine your 2.4 would be the same. Engine wise with my meagre knowledge they are bombproof. I had to repplace the waterpump as they can go and from experience the stupid plastic...

2.7 or 3.0 Terrano which is best

Also remember no cambelt or chain to mess with - this is worth its weight in gold, some of these engines can do 500K with regular servicing. Ive got a 03 plate but I beleive the 05 had a slighter nicer interior - moon roof sized sunroof on some in this year and trays on the seat backs for the kids?
