New RH drivers side wing - urgent.

Apart from cnfabs, who I've just PM''d. (but I don't think he has any).Does anyone know where and approximately how much for, I could get a right hand driver's side wing for a '96 square headlight T2? Tin worm has done for mine! CL

    Changing headlamp assembly units

Thanks Terranical Yes I've seen the adverts from the German source and 'Roger's Headlights' but, as you say, they're all in the 400 quid range for a pair. Haven't tried French breakers yet - I've yet to buy the new truck - I'll keep searching. Regards CL

    Changing headlamp assembly units

Hi Reetp I'm intending to bring a T2 over from the UK to France and, like you, will need to replace the headlamps with LHD ones. I'd be grateful if you could suggest a source of inexpensive LHD headlamps. I'll be looking for 2002-2004 models. Regards CL

I'm doing the London to Brighton Bike Ride this weekend!

Well done Loz, hope you raised lots for the good cause. So sad about the guy who died. My wife, daughter and I did that same run some few years back and it was a bunch of fun, apart from the rather sore nether regions for a few days after! (Didn't make Ditchling Beacon all the way in the saddle...

clunk at low speed on full lock...

A previous post suggested forcing a short piece of garden hose or reinforced polythene tube over the stop, so that just a short part protrudes forming a shallow void over the stop and then filling this with grease. I tried this and it works well. Of course you have to replace the grease...

    Hi all

Hi Eminox I've been watching these 3.0 ltrs for some time and the price is good for a 2002, assuming its a 5 door and the mileage is under 100k. As Lacroupade says there's not a lot to go wrong with them. Other threads suggest that the high and low oil pressure sensors (they have two) are...

    Truck suggestions

Hi Daved Like you we did the early retirement thing - fifteen years ago - haven't been 'home' in the UK since. We considered the fifth wheel, having seen some fantastic examples in the US and New Zealand but the prices in the UK are just stupid! £38k plus for a fifth wheel unit and you still...

    Terrano 2.7 or 3.0 ???? Please Help

Hi Thedenster Having owned a 2.7 non-intercooler T2 for a n umber of years - I love it. BUT I'm looking for a 3ltr to replace it. Having done considerable research I'd recommend a 3ltr manual because the autos, whilst very comfortable and easy to drive, (I love them - but not for a 4X4) I'm...

Just got my stickers - fitting advice please!

Hi Ourkid Done some sticker-sticking on boats and was taught by a professional. Clean the panel of all wax and grease with a mild solvent and then spray it with water before removing the backing and positioning your sticker. Once you have it in the exact position you want, expel the air bubbles...

    help with name

Hi Colin From our experience we find that our dogs have respond well to commands using a two syllable name so, of your choices, 'shadow', if you are set on it, might be the better one. However, as he/she's a light haired dog 'Shadow' might not be the most appropriate? You might perhaps consider...

    initial observations

On my '96 TD (No. 'I' ) the 'choke' simply increases the RPM, which helps when the engine is cold. I find it useful for the first few kilometres but I push it in as soon as I'm on the move and don't need to stop at traffic lights. (There aren't any where I live!) Rgds CL

    changing a 2.7 water pump

Hi Arthursmith The failure of the lower securing bolt of the rear seat belt attachment is a common failure. My '96 T2 had the same problem but instead of seeking to weld on a new plate (mucho dosho!) I simply drilled a hole in nearby sound metal and through bolted the existing attachment. Then I...
