Well I wanted to use the old heater if needbe to defrost the screen only as the Smiths one just blasts air past the unit matrix and has no ducting just door-like flaps. So effectively I would have two options, the defrost being short term until the screen was clear and then turned off.

My tailgate wiper has started to operate contiuously and will not switch off. I have stopped it by removing the relay.Is it likely to be the relay which is at fault? The switch has no effect.

Yes I have the car stopped and push lever in and pull back, and in neutral, Is it that I am trying to select it by pressing the clutch in that it doesn't light the 4wd indicator? Is there a light that says 4L rather than 4H?

Never previously had the need to select low ratio, I found I couldn't seem to do it - the lever was very stiff to move to 4H, but I managed. when I pressed down and pulled the lever back, the green 4WD indicator went off and I had no drive. All advice welcome!
