    "chipping" a T2 2.7 TDi

LOL, was thinking that, it's his comments on the other thread that got me thinking. But hey Mav, you know me well enough now to know I've no clue whether it'll fit or not. I don't even know what a PSI powerbox is! I can drive 4x4's but I couldn't even find the engine in one ;-) Mine is a 03...

what a kick in the teeth

Honestly, I'd say no. The days of the 4x4 as a "family car" are dead. Have to say though I think it's not that bad a thing. Many of us drive these cars/trucks for good reason, and know how to drive them. Many many MANY don't, they got one as a status symbol and use them to force their presence...

    "chipping" a T2 2.7 TDi

First off not sure if this should be in mods, mech or elec forum, so sorry if this is the wrong one! I've a totally standard 03 2.7tdi, what would folk suggest by way or chipping the engine, or whatever you call it, to gain a bit more power and better fuel efficiency?

what a kick in the teeth

I have a 2003 which I replaced last year with a new Navara, I decided not to sell it as the money being offered then was silly low, I figured it owed me nothing and was a fantastic car so i sold the wifes crappy C-Max and she's driving it now. Yesterday I decided to see what they're fetching on...

As ever huge thanks chaps, you just saved me nearly £100. Milner did the business for about £60 inc. VAT. Cheers all.

    Rear wheel cylinders: Where?

Hiya all, need yet more parts for my 2003 2.7TDi T2 (was this a bad year or what? Spent more on this one than I ever spent on my old '95!). Anyway, I need 2 rear wheel cylinders, Nissan want £75 plus VAT each, before I take the plunge and get the local garage to order them, does anyone know of...

Low MPG and soot around exhaust

Noticed yesterday the MPG has dropped a lot since last couple of fills, also just noticed there is a lot of "soot" all over the rear bumper above the exhaust out. Car is a 2.7 TDi 2003 eith about 60k no the clock. Otherwise in perfect order. Any ideas what the problem might be?

BBC revels in 4x4 bashing NCAP Results

I had a letter in the other week about the airbag so Nissan are taking it seriously. Regards the crumble thing, unless I'm mistaken they test by driving into a solid immovable object, which is reality are few and far between in the real world. Reality is if I have a head on with a "normal" in...

    total loss of electrical power.

All sorted now, the alternator got a service from a local company, cost £50, then on top of that the price of two new belts and some albour to the garage for removal, refitting, which shouldn't be too high. So all in, other than a screwed up weekend away without the kids, no drama. Thanks as...

    total loss of electrical power.

Thanks for that, the alternator is off and being sent tomorrow to a company who services and repairs them, will be cheaper than a new one, I hope by a lot. Thanks for the advice on the thread folks, as usual my recently paid membership has already paid for itself. Steve

    total loss of electrical power.

New belt on, and when the engine is revv'd to about 2000 the alternator is putting out about 14v at the batt terminals, as soon as the heater, lights and a few other bits are on the output at the batt terminal is only about 12.6 when revv'd really hard. Guy in the garage says it needs to be...

    total loss of electrical power.

Car into the garage today as I need it fixed fast and have no time to look at it myself. They reckon the belt is done, very worn and not turning the alternator enough. Here's hoping, as I can really do without spending a lot of fixing it at the mo.
