Just did a complete rear brake recon on my 97 Mav, Lucas brake shoes £12 2x Wheel cylinders at £3.30 each Spring return kit £12 So the older models certainly get my vote, plus Veg oil of course :thumb2

Regards the PM Alex,look at my other posts mate as I did a bit of a write up on this, my laptop is bust so using a tablet and links etc are almost impossible to do without driving me bonkers. As an update, the Audi sensor is still working fine :thumb2 and the Mav is used everyday.

I must admit , I did mine whilst the Mav was on a4 post lift and sat on a stool whilst welding, you will get more daylight under the car though when you cut the original sills off, do the sills one side at a time and jack the box section into place ensuring the door gaps are ok - then weld it in.

The 80mm is horizontal the tube becomes the outer sill and makes a good rock slider, its's easy to weld this lot in, maybe it's a bit over the top but it will last a lifetime buddy.

LWB came up as 25.4mm

I cross referenced the part numbers and found the listing by doing this, the picture of the cylinder is exactly the same as the one that I have taken off my 1997 Maverick and it dosent state it's a random picture, if you wait until mine arrive I can confirm if that helps :thumbs

£30 collected to a member? This is a absolute bargain, almost giving it away, this lot weighs a ton (nearly) it would cost over twice this at my steel stockist and makes a superb job of those rusty sills, you can jack the vehicle up under these. Cannot believe no one needs it - last chance...

The way I tackled this was to cut out all the rot in the rear floor area and weld in a 50mm angle iron frame leaving a big square aperture, then I cut a piece of 25mm exterior ply to fill the hole (guess it's approx. 36 inch square without looking), bonded a thick sheet of stainless steel sheet...
