If I remember right, glow plugs and injectors are in a pre-combustion chamber so might be hard to get wire to cylinder. A diesel compression gauge in a glow plug hole would confirm whether the cylinder is compressing or not.

As per this post it is a very very good idea to clamp off a flexi hose at a time or continue to clamp them off until the pedal potentially improves showing the line at fault.
