    anyone experience with recovery boards?

As said, no intention to get a winch (don't want to spend a whole lot more money on the car), and no time in a shoot day to dig in a ground anchor... A board of some kind that could be used to bridge a small ditch gets extra points!

    anyone experience with recovery boards?

As the title says, any recommendations on / experience with recovery boards, sand plates, waffle boards etc? Don't want to spend €€ on a winch, and most places I drive there is nothing to winch from (driving around on our rough shoot area). No dry sand, only wet grass and clay/mud. Preferably...

Wanted - SWB 2.7TDi Terrano Sport

If he's not very good at parking you might want to set aside some money for rear parking sensors, or a camera :)

    This Weekend

Be careful when driving offroad in Belgium - especially the Ardennes in autumn/winter. On most, if not all, unpaved roads there is no automatic right of access. Mostly you can drive them if you own land or are farming on land adjacent to these roads.

    This Weekend

Scope for accidents is very high indeed - but it is quite regulated here in continental Europe. No firearm certificates or anything, but you have to pass a severe theoretical and practical exam to get a hunting (shooting) licence. And with that you can quite easily buy hunting weapons. Outdoor...

    This Weekend

Today we did about 10km (6 miles) on foot, through sugar beet fields and cover crops (white mustard, I think it is). Very tiring, very sweaty. I like it better when it rains! The T2 is yellow now from all the clay dust; all potato fields here are now being sprayed with water to make sure they...

    This Weekend

Friday all day driven hunt for boar, roe and red deer. Saturday recovering from that (very early start, and it was friggin' cold!!!), and a nice night out with Mrs perelaar. Lebanese restaurant, very good. Today the opening day of shooting season (rough shoot, not driven) in our area, for...

Going shopping - suspension parts required

I'm very happy with Milner's, posting to Belgium. Mind you, postage is rather expensive, so you better make sure you have everything :).

    Terrano's Speedo

My T2 consistently is about 10% off (checked with Satnav). Our new Seat Leon is bang on, no more than 2 or 3 km/h difference...

    Rant, rant, rant !!!!!

Apple (home) user here - changed because I got sick of all the Microsoft related trouble. Stress free computing since 2002 :) But I have to admit, compatibility is not top, and there is quite a learning curve.

Does My Bum Look Big In These?

Any reason why the dog is dressed up? I'm asking because I have seen once a bitch in heat, owners put a pair of knickers with some wadding on her to stop her loosing drops of blood all over the house :)

    Brake failure today

Had exactly the same!! I ended up replacing all pipes front to back, for ease of mind. Markings on the flex pipes showed they'd been on since 1997. So far for MOT and maintenance history ;)

    1997 2.7TDI vacuum hoses

Anyone an idea which size vacuum hoses I need, how much of them, and which (if any) other accessories? I'd like to replace as many as I can, the car just turned 20 years old and deserves a treat :)

    Jack Russell Puppies

I'd take one immediately - but with me in Belgium, and already having 2 labradors, I don't see it happen :) Love JRs. A very big dog in a very small package.

    MOT tomorrow

Funny thing is, I overheard a (obviously new, and very young) tester asking one of the old guys if they should not fail my T2 on play in the steering system. Reply from the old one: "absolutely not, this is normal on these cars" :) Truth be told, all balljoints have been replaced during last...
