    Time to say goodbye?

I hit a slight snag. Everything between the body and chassis is disconnected but the body does not want to come off. If I put a pry bar near the mounts then there is movement. I need the body to come up a little bit as I am also changing the body mounts. Several brake lines need renewing as the...

    Time to say goodbye?

I can’t upload the photo of the other side, still connected to the anti roll bar. :nenau Removed all the body mounting bolts today. They all came out fine, apart from one. Of course this is one of two that drops down from inside the cabin. Had to remove the driver seat to get to it. All in...

    Time to say goodbye?

It has only been MOT’d in December and the bracket for the anti roll bar has completely corroded through. A month after the MOT I noticed that it had a hole on one side of the bracket. When I wanted to removed it today it had corroded through.

    Time to say goodbye?

Rick, you are lucky! Mine is a SWB manual 2.8td. Not the best photo but this is what you hit on the Y61. The driver side foot well extend forward and there is not enough room to pull the gearbox back without rotating the gearbox. Happy to be corrected though.

    Time to say goodbye?

I had high hopes that I would get more done today but as usual, the Patrol throws a few curve balls. Getting the driveshafts off was proving slightly problematic as the gearbox is stuck in 3rd gear. So you can’t rotate the driveshaft to get to the upper bolts. They were also tightened by Hulk...

    Time to say goodbye?

Tried to reply to you earlier today but it seems that the forum was offline. I was keeping my fingers crossed that they didn’t pull the plug for good. Not sure what clutch you are going for Rick but the LOF clutches get very good reviews from the offroaders...

    Time to say goodbye?

Rick, at first glance that cam cover gasket is not suitable for my car. I have got an old one somewhere in the garage and will compare in the next few days.

    Time to say goodbye?

Taken the top of gearbox and all looks fine on first inspection. However, the gear selector will not move at all. The truck is going into the garage in the next couple of days and I will pull the gearbox. Needed to be done anyway for the flywheel. I plan on taking the gearbox apart myself to...

    Time to say goodbye?

Hi Rick, that mill looks fine. Are you going to recondition it or just use as is? I will have a look at the gasket bear with me. Got a slight problem with the truck at the moment which might force my hand. Just came back from shopping with the missus and after changing gear from 4th to 3rd the...

    Time to say goodbye?

I will have a look from time to time on the forum. Time just seems to he slipping through my hands. What milling machine did you buy? A lathe and a milling machine are on my shopping list. :D At the moment I just haven’t got any space in my garage. Just put in our Discharge of Condition...

    Time to say goodbye?

It’s been a while since I last visited. The original plan was to start on the Patrol in the middle of June. Started removing the bumpers etc. Unfortunately my other car started to play up just then. It would stall when coming to a stop. Turned out that a breather hose was perished and...

    Time to say goodbye?

In the end I have decided. Ot to take the body off completely but just raise it high enough to facilitate access to the gearbox. Put the Patrol in the garage last week to start work, only for my other car (2006 Audi A4) to stall at the traffic lights. Started up straight away but I need a...

    It's been a while

Sorry Elty, only just read your post. A website that you may find useful: https://yoshiparts.com/en/parts/car/nissan Look at the parts diagrams and it gives you all the Nissan Part Numbers. They have warehouses in Dubai and Japan and are able to supply genuine Nissan parts. However, I normally...

    Patrol rear coils

A simple job turns once again into a whole operation. These Patrol keep us busy.

    It's been a while

Good to see you back Elty! Hopefully I continue my Patrol Project thread. As Rick has already mentioned, not much happening on the forum. A great shame.

    Time to say goodbye?

Thank you Rick! I will have a search for your thread. Thank you too Elty!

    Time to say goodbye?

Cheers Rick. To be honest, making a new one myself seems to be the only way forward. May I ask where you got your exhaust parts from? Slowly ordering more parts for the Patrol. So far everything has been available at reasonable prices, so that is a bonus. Of course, the flywheel is the...

    Time to say goodbye?

After a bit of deliberation and a look at suitable alternatives, the Patrol will stay. The only real alternative to the Patrol is either a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Land Rover Discovery. Having done a search on the net it appears that spare parts for a Grand Cherokee are rather hard to come by...

    mot

Mine had its MOT last November and sailed through with a few advisories but nothing major.

    Time to say goodbye?

Unfortunately, it is becoming financially uneconomical to keep the Patrol going. Due to private circumstances I have driven her very little in the last few years. I had somebody else use it for a bit so that she kept running. I drove her a couple of weeks ago for the first time in over 2 years...
