    Electric Mini Quad!

Very nice. Hope the young man has lots of fun on it. Interested in hearing your opinion on the electric mini quad once the lad has had a chance to put it through it's paces.

    Transfer box lever came off

Took a picture of bottom of transfer box shift lever. Other than a broken spring and broken retainer pin that is all I got. I'm guessing someone may have had this off at some point and didn't put back all the bushings and clips.

What to expect, the 7 P's

Nice tidy looking terrano. Were you out cutting a bit of turf in that third picture?

What to expect, the 7 P's

Black with tinted windows and leather seating and only 123 left on the road in UK! We just got to see those pics.

Thanks for all the advice. Will disconnect battery and attach clamp close to where welding on the chassis.

Engine Not Starting, Glow Plug Light Not On

This is a long post and beyond my experience but in case it is of any relevance it is possible for unusual problems to arise because of corroded or bad battery leads or connections at battery. Also have had some strange things happen from battery that had failed (even though battery seemed fine...

What to expect, the 7 P's

Excuse the ignorance but what's a Salomon? How does it differ from the standard Terrano? Does it have different trim or styling?

Any welding advice. Don't want to fry electrics.

Have not done a lot of welding but I need to weld new brackets for rear drop links onto chassis . I'm sure battery should be disconnected. I'm sure I read somewhere to also disconnect the alternator. Anything else that needs to be done to avoid frying the electrics or ecu?

    Shudder and hum at 40mph

Great stuff. Just need it for school runs so 4wd not required.

What to expect, the 7 P's

I have found these to be fairly reliable vehicles. Don't know if there is much benefit in changing out parts unless they are already giving trouble. Things don't tend to go suddenly leaving you stuck. I would keep an eye on the water pump though. They do tend to go every few years on some models.

    Shudder and hum at 40mph

Finally got the propshaft off. U joint is rightly goosed. Took it for a run with propshaft off and no shuddering so looks like problem is the u-joint. Awkward enough to get the shaft off so decided not to swap it out and will change the joint instead. Any issue with driving around without the...

Thanks for the tip. Will get the tape measure out before I get on the spanners.

    Transfer box lever came off

Thanks for the help. Won't get to fix it until next week anyway so no panic. Have to swap out the propshaft over the weekend.

Latest project started Monday to keep me busy

Looking forward to seeing final product. Some tasty craftsmanship there.

    Shudder and hum at 40mph

First one I did was from a Suzuki Escudo. Ended up taking an angle grinder to it. The less details given on that the better!

    Transfer box lever came off

Anyone remove or replace transfer box lever? Mine has come loose, looks like a retaining pin broke. Lifted it out and came out along with a broken spring and split white plastic cover that goes around the lever shaft above the retaining pin hole. Should there be some sort of rubber bush and/or...

    Shudder and hum at 40mph

LWB to LWB. Have access to a vice. Not as big as the one in your photos but big enough to squeeze a socket into the joint to push through. Done the job once or twice before, sometimes more smoothly than others.

    Shudder and hum at 40mph

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Much appreciated. Propshaft is running all the time even with 4wd (edit) dis-engaged. Had a quick poke underneath the vehicle this morning. Rear U-joint on front propshaft definately goosed. Probably half an inch movement up and down when shake it. Looks...
