your truck should have fixed hubs, much more reliable than auto hubs as no maintenance required and always fixed to the shafts. full lock knocking could be steering lock bits need greasing.

veg oil clears all the crap out of systems, the same crap that has built up around the rubber seals and protects them for so long. running on diesel will lower the suction on those seals and may, just may let them seat again. i would look at a second hand pump off ebay and strip and rebuild then...

fill the filter with veg oil,if diesel, before fitting. less priming.

never used white spirit in any of the cars ive run veg oil in, and never will. use diesel to thin out the veg oil in cooler months. if you blew an engine i imagine it was just a bad engine. google veg oil, very worst it can do is goose the fuel pump on certain cars, as once started diesel cars...
