    Coronovirus and lockdown

Two of my friends Mothers went into hospital for operations, both caught the virus, one is dead and the other came close. Healthy NHS staff are dying from Covid 19, what do you think the spread would have be like if everyone had carried on working using the trains, buses and tube? I spoke to a...

    Doug the TIG

Have fun, does it come with the flat packed welding mask and miniature gas bottle? :)

    Coronovirus and lockdown

The way I see things currently is the temporary hospitals, morgues, burial procedures and support infrastructure are now in place ready for when the lockdown is lifted and the carnage starts. These resources were not available nor necessary previously and if they do not get used I would liken...

    Doug the TIG

I had a quick look but I think you need to be sat in front of the machine hands on to understand it easier. Or use the pedal as Fez Says if it has one.

There should be a setting on the machine for 2T/4T latching control over the switch. Downloadable manual here. That really is a top end piece of kit. :thumb2

    Doug the TIG

Ooh, Thermal Arc. And a water cooler. I'm not jealous.:bow Try giving the sheet a clean, Tig needs clean and grease free material. Are the consumables for Tig? BOC gave me gas rods instead of tig when I started, you can use Mig wire.

    Doug the TIG

I tracked down a supplier today 75 mile round trip and he doesn't keep the Y size bottles I have only smaller or slightly bigger. Harrumph. :(

Do you have Argon? I'm struggling with BOC at the moment as most places local to me for cylinder exchange are closed and delivery is too expensive. Tig is a lot more expensive than Mig!

    Elty001's terrano project

I must stop looking at this thread, I want to tear mine apart and start building the bumpers! :lol I have other stuff to do first and tools to buy, the Mig needs a bigger torch as I nearly fried it on 10mm plate and the winch budget has gone on a DRO for the milling machine.:( The bumper is...

    Elty001's terrano project

I like that, not sure it would suit my older Terrano so I might have to borrow it for a couple of months just to be sure. :augie After the accident the only thing keeping the bumper on was the R/H bracket remains and the L/H indicator wires. I disconnected the bulb and it swung right round to...

    Die Cast Car Collectors

A unique car for it's time, only 320 built so to drive one is a bit special. :bowI have only been out in one but driven a few Interceptors which have a totally different chassis and are 4" shorter. Great collection, very unique. The Crunchie Steerman is one of Vic Normans planes used for wing...

    Elty001's terrano project

That edge would have been handy as a tin opener on the M25 when that X5 pushed me under an artic trailer. :naughty Wouldn't have been so kind to the trailer tyres though.

    Die Cast Car Collectors

How about a Jensen FF? I'm not a collector but I do like the well made and detailed ones in 1:43. A few years back I started collecting my 12 all time favourite cars for a Lottery win fantasy garage and a Dodge Challenger became a problem in that scale and I have 3 now, one of which involved...

    Elty001's terrano project

It's an Evolution model evolved from Stella, what would it look like on Special Brew? :naughty

    Elty001's terrano project

I have a stack of 2.5mm sheet to use for the outer pieces on my bumpers, I have yet to pull the remains of the front bumper off and repair the accident damage and see what rot is hidden in there.

    Elty001's terrano project

Nice, what size steel are you using?

    Coronovirus and lockdown

A friend of mine works at an Undertaker and their freezer is at capacity, he is working ridiculous hours for the company to cope and it's mainly out of hours collections in the community. If you don't stop the spread then you need temporary Morgues or start cremating people without service from...

    Patrol Parts needed.

Your welding skills are well up you making an exhaust repair section. I avoid welding exhaust boxes if possible as they look good on the outside but are usually wafer thin from the inside and you end up chasing holes and most OE boxes are aluminised or galvanised which doesn’t help.

    12 volt camping set ups

That’s what I thought you would want the Voodoo system for. I think things are better these days with LED lighting etc as the loads for most things are a lot less. I repaired a 1000 Amp battery pack for a friend recently and was really impressed with it for the size as it bought a diesel...
