    1997 Terrano II 2.4 X-Treme

Thanks Rick, the cast-iron manifold is in excellent shape with very little sign of corrosion and the gasket faces are all good. Even the threads are good if you can get the steel out in one piece! The M10 x1.25 downpipe stud that sheared had enough left sticking out to weld an M12 nut to and get...

    1997 Terrano II 2.4 X-Treme

The exhaust started blowing last week and felt like the centre box as I could feel a blow around the joint so I left it to the weekend to fix. We'll on the way home Friday it started to sound like a banger racer so I stared investigating over the weekend fully expecting a quick repair or a bit...

Could you not take the parts from the other Maverick you have?

    My 1997 2.7 Diesel Maverick

I would be interested in buying the car as it stands, is it drivable? My 2.4 is poorly at the moment! Mike

    KA24E EGR Valve

Thanks Rick, I wasn't sure how sophisticated the management system would be. Looks like I will have to knock the guts out if the Catalytic convertor too, melted at the rear.

    KA24E EGR Valve

Does anyone know if the 2.4 petrol will run ok with the EGR Valve blanked off? I had to cut the stainless steel pipe that runs to the valve from the manifold. If I can get away without repairing the tube and blank it off it would save a great deal of agro.

Looking to hire KA24E expert for swap

A lot of the cars I can think of that may have a suitable gearbox have ended up in the drifting community so would likely be subjected to hiked up prices from 'scene tax'.

Looking to hire KA24E expert for swap

I'm no expert on the KA24 but you would be wanting a RWD gearbox from a Nissan road car or pickup to use the engine. I might be interested in the remains of the Terrano if you go ahead, what is it like? Edit: Is the Taxi automatic?

Sorry I've been quite distracted due to health

Sorry to hear of your health issues. The bit that did my head in wasn't the diagnosis but waiting to find out results and what type of treatment I would receive.

    Elty001's terrano project

With the amount of welding you have done recently your Terrano should be eligible to wear a “Made In England” label! :D

    Elty001's terrano project

I repaired a Mercedes with a rusty outrigger, the only reason it failed the Mot was something had hit it and torn the flexible sealant showing the rot! The whole outrigger and floor above had turned to dust.

    Terrano tuning

Google translate gave this: Is the thread still open? I would be interested in making myself a MAF AMP. If someone could give me instructions I would appreciate it.

    Breathing back life.......

It would be nice to turn back time and repopulate the roads with Patrols and Terranos, Opels too. A lot of vehicles have disappeared in 8 years (I think Elty has dismantled most of them! :D) and the youngest will be around 14 years old now so there is bound to be less interest or need for...

I like the edited engineering videos with fast forward through the boring or menial parts, shows the process without making you fall asleep. :D

    Breathing back life.......

What about ye? :thumb2 I was in a niche car club mid 90's, not so much a club but a register of names with V8 Opels and a forum like this would have been a perfect platform to keep in touch which we did via a newsletter every two months. I ended up running the register and newsletter for quite...

    Sand blasting and protection

I think from what I have read Walnut Shell is like Soda, very forgiving on sheet metal and doesn't cause the friction and heat associated with other more aggressive media that warps panels. I tried an experiment on thin sheet with Glass Bead to see what damage I could do, the heat build up was...

    Sand blasting and protection

I bet the finish was nice, I use it on aluminium mainly. Sand is more abrasive as it has sharp edges, bead is more of a finishing media and for peening the surface so not really the right media for the type of work you are doing where you want to cut through dirt and corrosion. Crushed glass is...
