Can anyone explain this on an RD28t

What is the problem here Rick? Not sure what the problem is here looks like a healthy supply of oil to me ? Some sohc oil feeds on some engines have restrictors to limit oil feeds as well as catch areas to keep the camshafts well oiled in the head.

    Electrical gremlins

Just a thought. You have an electrical nightmare going on there. The wire that you found was shorting - are there any immediate upstream (or possibly downstream) relays that may have melted in the closed position whist it was shorting?

    That time of year

Real World Jeep MPG Not sure what sort of MPG your online research for Jeeps has thrown up as there are many untruths out there. I do not tow. As you know we run two Jeep JC's. The WJ 2.7CRD average is as follows. 2016 over 9.8k miles 25.13 mpg 2017 over 14k miles 24.64 mpg 2018 over 14k...

    Weekend Plans

Great welding there Elty! I have to say I have always enjoyed looking at other people welding jobs - it must be very satisfying to be able to weld. Back in the late 1970's I did a spot (no pun intended) of electric welding mainly on new Mini subframes to make them stronger for rallying etc. My...

    Weekend Plans

Bike on it's side to remove the engine I've read that elsewhere I have to remove the sump and camshaft cover then it will only come out from the right hand side - it's my plan to do it as you have suggested. I might take the cylinder block off to make it lighter.

    Weekend Plans

Testing your Pee regularly!! Thanks Elty, it has brought home to me the importance when you are older of testing your urine regularly as advised by the late and great Uncle Rustic and others here to detect Prostate problems. I used to test mine every month or so over the last 4/5 years but...

    Overhaul of brake proportioning valve?

You should be okay in the dry but in the wet you might find the rear brakes keep on locking up - not good you could easily end up spinning off the road on a bend!

    Overhaul of brake proportioning valve?

Buy an adjustable brake balancer valve they are not expensive If you do not have dual circuit brakes you can buy adjustable balancer valves you just tweak them until the rear brakes do not lock. I fitted one to my old Austin Mini when I changed the size of the rear wheel cylinders. There are...

    New Lock Down

Covid 19 fears are real. We have never had compulsory vaccination in the UK it could never happen with our laws Doug on assault & consent. We have compulsory notification of certain diseases such as Campylobacter but that's not quite the same thing. In the past we have relied on peoples...

    New Lock Down

Okay Rick what's your answer ? Opinions are like arseholes everyone's got one Rick, instead of banging on about the Covid19 situation as usual and how the Government has done it all wrong what is your answer to the Pandemic? How would you control the spread so that it does not overwhelm us...

    Starting troubles

Starter Motor tiredbess? It might not be easy to get at but Starters can part fail when the internal connections corrode and fail under high load. Definitely worth checking - I have in the past damaged a starter by overtightening the power cable.
