    Sunroof drain holes

I've had the truck for 5 years now so I decided it was time to fix the leaky sunroof. I've read about the drain holes and by the look of them they look well placed and substantial so I'm hopeful that unblocking them (I'm assuming they are blocked) will make life drier. I had a go at this once...

    Turbo options

Hi, I'm no expert. I'm sure they will be a long in a mo. However, thought I'd pass on a possibly relevant experience. Our Subaru diesel was diagnosed with an icky turbo. Options were 1) brand new one, £1200 2) recon one, £600 or 3) send of the old one for recon and wait a week, £400. Did the...

    Maverick Standard Tyre Advice Required

Somewhere on this forum someone recommened the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. Put that on mine and very happy with them. Seem good on road. My off road life is mostly going in and out of muddy gates or driving through fields. Fine for that. Only problems I've had have been down to my stupidity, not the...

    Roof rack max load

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Used to get notifications on my phone via Tapatalk but forgot I no longer had the app. :doh The canoe would be suitable for 3 adults. It's certainly well built. It's basically an ex- hire. I did see some acro props on Ebay which werre well priced but they...

    Roof rack max load

Point taken. So anyone carrying canoes on their roof racks? Kayaks are pretty light I guess. Anything Canadian style less than 50 kilos?

    Roof rack max load

'lo, The famaily had half a day canoeing and were quite taken by it. We could buy a second hand canadian canoe quite reasonably. The canoe weighs about 90Kg but I know the Terrano roof rax says max 50Kg. Any advice or is this a none starter. The bars between the rails look quite weedy so I'd...

    PAYG phone cards

I can recommend Plusnet mobile. Their SIM only deals are dirt cheap and it's a 30 day rolling contract. The SIMs will fit any phone. They often have deals on. The only issue I have had with them is calling short code numbers like you often find on car parks. It costs them money so they don't...

    A rant

Sorry to hear that awful story. Just wanted to chip in about the certification with hopefully some good news. When we came to sell, this came up. Our solicitor says 'easy peasy'. Took out indemnity insurance costing IIRC £69. It would have cost more to have the council pop round and do the...

    Tyre Talk

Fitted Cooper Discovery 3 A/T tyres on my Terrano a few years back and wouldn't put anything else on her (should she outlive the tyres :( ) The tyres I had before caused me a few 'moments' in the wet coming off a roundabout (managed to catch it, no 180s). The tyres I had before when I bought...

    Brake discs and pads

I've been told these will need doing for the MOT. Couple of Qs. Are there any 'fitment details' i.e. different manufacturers user on vehicles so you have to know which one you are buying for. Online parts shop suggests not. How bad a job is it? GSF currently have 60% off so could get 'GSF...

Carnivorous Plant keeping -anyone here tried it ?

We have a few Venus fly traps here and some sticky something or others. Only advice we've been given is to keep them moist (pot sat in a tray of half inch of butt water) and to cut any flowers off. It would appear that growing flowers/seeds will likely be the death of the plant. Google knows...

    Center dash / Blower controls mk3 T2

This is the stage I'm now at minus the replacement bulb. Did you manage (or even try) to transfer the blue condom? Maplins passed through my thoughts processes earlier. I miss them. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

    Center dash / Blower controls mk3 T2

Going to be a bit of a delay before the rest of the reassembly pics. I have a few instrument/control lamps out and it makes sense to fix them while everything is apart. First up is the lamp (photo) behind the hot/cold control. Any idea where you can get these? Also I'm wondering if I unclip the...

    Center dash / Blower controls mk3 T2

Tonight's installment 1 a cable clip from the controller end 2 being inserted 3 clipped in 4 the work scene 5 panel under steering wheel showing how it clips in. Also 3 screws iirc 6 where that panel meets the instrument cluster. You have to remove a screw holding the centre plastics from the...

    Center dash / Blower controls mk3 T2

No problem. They will come in installments though. 1 the controller unit 2 same. Different view 3 you can see the break here through the glue 4 top side of same. Will show cable and clip when the glue has hardened 5 you can see two holes I drilled for a cable tie to hold the cable sheath on a...

    Center dash / Blower controls mk3 T2

Guessing you have done this now but if not ask away. Currently have mine all apart for exactly the same reasons. In my case, both cables (hot/cold and direction) we broken. Happy to take any photos requested but hope to get it back together in the next 24 hours when the epoxy glue has hardened.
