Sounds like a clutch problem and the clutch plates is warn along with the thrust bearing at a guess. What's the play like in the peddle when you let the clutch out, does it come out a long way before grabbing, might need adjusting.

Have a look at the light fitting where the bulb is held and see if any wires have come off,corroded, you might have to pull it out (the fitting). The Mistral has the interior light that dims when you shut the drivers side but goes straight out if you use any other door, I wonder if you are have...

You should be able to pull off your rubber seals around the door frame as the seals hold the covers on and then the covers should come off with a gentle pull up to slide it out.

Have you checked the switching arm ?

Have a look at the wiring diagram around the main switch for the lights

Are you sure it is not a belt slipping seem it starts after it's warmed up ? Check brakes are retracting and not sticking slightly?

Sounds more like the relay was shorting out or earthing some where.

First thing to do would be to check the tension and the condition of the power steering belt. When you turn full lock you load up the power steering which puts pressure on the belt so if the belt is worn smooth on the inside or slack the belt squeals as it's slipping. Over a period of time the...

Check the earth connections any where on the strap from battery to anchorage if all is ok and still does it...... Grab a new battery and throw it and see what happens, I reckon you have a plate/cell on it's way out.
