Had A Little Trip In The Camper

Had a little trip away in the camper last week to the Outer Hebrides. Unfortunately too far to go in the Mav so slumbed it in the camper. We went up to Lewis and Harris and then on to Skye on the way back. Turned out that the ferry was changed outward bound to sail from Ullapool rather than Uig...

    Mates MOT failure

That’s great news Rick. Sadly my old green project truck will be going to the breakers in a few weeks. It failed January last year and my son has made half arsed attempts at working on it. So unfortunately come the Easter holidays I shall be putting the wheels back on and dropping it back down...

    4WD noises

Can you take a photo of the hub and post it on here. Yes I know the manual hubs that you mentioned, you can buy them for these trucks which is what I ended up doing on my original motor because I got sick of repairing the auto lockers. Also another thing ro think about is all the prop shafts...

    4WD noises

If the people fitting the pads also replaced the disks then the front hub would have been removed as the disks fit on the back of the hub. So that willof meant the wheel bearings disturbed. There is a circlip to remove to get the hub off the end of the drive shaft. Now hopefully being the 3...

    Snow Time

To be honest despite the amber warning we’ve got hardly any of the white stuff. One thing for sure is that I’m pretty confident Rustics truck would cope with anything I could throw at it. To be honest I’m interested to see how the Roomster drives with the cross climate tyres on it.

    Snow Time

Well it’s looking like we might actually get a dumping of snow for pretty much most of tomorrow. Question is dare I take the driveway queen out for a drive around and expose her to the salt:eek: I reckon if I do it’ll need hosing off at the weekend :nenau

    Maverick Awoke from Hibernation

Well back in October when the roads started to get salted I took the Maverick off the road and disconnected the batteries. Only gave the batteries a top up charge over Christmas and that’s all that has happened. Been kept under thecar port blocked in by other family vehicles. Today I decided to...

    I’m Feeling Like Victor Meldrew

Well this last couple of days has been quite stressful and difficult, it’s made me take a step back and think that I’m starting to become Victor Meldrew. It appears I expect far too much from businesses I have dealings with. Yesterday evening myself and two friends decided to go to a local Fish...

    Anton 13

Welcome aboard Anton, sounds like your truck will be same engine setup as my 1995 Maverick. Mine came from a former member of this club that sadly passed away. He waxoyled it from day 2 of being registered and kept it in a heated garage. I think the earlier trucks had better anti rust treatment...
