    Lanoguard

Has anyone ever used Lanoguard before? I bought some to protect the Maverick, jury still out on the stuff. It’s certainly easy to apply and hopefully being a natural product it should be easy to clean off places that I don’t want it like the driveway. One thing I do know about it, it bloody...

    SWB Maverick Rear Bumper Removal

The mud flap bracket bolts Mud flap bracket bolts, these can rot into the chassis so might be worth seeing if the brackets will unbolt from the mud flaps to make it easier. The whole bumper including the reinforcement and cover should slide backwards off the vehicle as one lump. Take care with...

    SWB Maverick Rear Bumper Removal

From what I remember there are two main bolts at each side and then two bolts at each side that hold the mud flap brackets. Mines the long wheel base but I cannot imagine it being much different. Here’s the main bolts that you are looking for on the metal reinforcement, tried to find them on the...

    Bull Bar Legality

I remember plastic and rubber versions being sold and fitted. All that said about them I think some of the heavy duty metal bumpers are likely to pose a similar risk to the bull bars. Also when fitted it is probably worth letting insurance company know as they will class them as a modification.

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Have you managed to fix it?

    M O T again

If it’s clean to begin with it helps. I think it only delays the inevitable, certainly the thinner waxoils tend not to seal moisture in like the thicker stuff does.

    M O T again

Good luck Rick but I’m sure it’ll fly through the test. I got a can of Dynatrol Cavity Wax with the long tube that sprays 360 degrees. I removed the kick trims on top of the sills and poked the tube through the holes. Pushed the tube as far as it would go so I’m sure I got good coverage inside...

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Thinking about it if you check the downloads section there might be a workshop guide showing the damper pipe and blocking it off. Like brakes it normally takes two people to bleed the system and shouting clear messages to each other, just remember that the pedal needs to be held down until the...

Clutch woes, am I missing something?

Hi, I’m assuming if you’ve replaced parts but have you then bled the system? There’s a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder that you slacken off and let someone else then press the clutch and hold it down while you then tighten the nipple and let the pedal up again. Repeat this until the air is...

    Solar powered chain saw

That sounds like a great bit of kit. I’ve seen battery powered chainsaws on YouTube videos but always thought that they might not be up to the job, obviously you have been able to prove otherwise. I’ve had battery drills for years but eventually the batteries gave up being nicads. About 8 years...

Need to make my own lathe gear

That’s a fine job that Rick, mind you brass being softer than steel could that make it a sacrificial component to save the rest of the gears should something go wrong. Call it a safety modification and sound all clever. I’ve never tried a metal lathe, I loved the wood turning lathes at school...

Need to make my own lathe gear

Hi Rick, don’t know if it’s of any use but an ex member from here that still remembers you has a engineering company in Leeds. He takes on small jobs like that. If you’re interested drop me a PM and I’ll let you have his details. Mind you knowing you Rick, you are so resourceful this probably...
