Yep, I put it in my Vice and connected it direct to the battery with jumper cables. Old one turned twice and stopped, cables got HOT! One from Clivvy, just whizzed around! I think I fpound the fault. My mate has just come back from work, he's gonna try fitting motor after he's had a cuppa!

The thing I still don't understand is why it wouldn't turn over when the jump leads were connected? Wonder if its the Starter Motor? But, the problem only started after the Positive cable snapped off!

I've ordered a new positive cable with crimped lugs on the ends, I don't think the new terminal gets a good enough contact on the old cable, plus I'm getting another ignition switch. When the new cable arrives, I'll remove all earth and positive cables, clean attachment points and replace, the...
