I asked how the heck he achieved 47mpg and said he used Shell VPower. I can't see 47mpg is possible unless you use hyper-miling techniques such as tyres pumped to short of exploding. A dicky odometer will help too. My odometer is out by 2% and speedo by 10%. Sent from my Alba 10" using Tapatalk

Quick update ... since doing a complete fluid change, engine oil, filters, gearbox, transfer, front & rear diffs, the mpg is almost back to normal. I'm now getting 200 miles at the halfway tank indicator. Also checked the odometer against my GPS and it is reading 2% over.

Mmmm .... I've just used Comma oils for engine, gearbox, transfer, rear diff and just about to do the front diff. I must admit changing into first was a bit notchy in one attempt but fine since.

Same gear box FS5R30A so should be okay in that case. Thanks.

I understand that the Terrano manual gearbox takes 3.6l of oil. I've just drained mine and filled a 5l container! I've refilled and have accidentally filled 4l. I stuck my finger in the inlet and the level is about an inch below. Bearing in mind I have the front up on ramps so may be the oil...

Another success. The new breaker bar did the trick especially the telescopic feature with working in confined space. Again using the bar by rocking back and forth helped but thought bar was going to break. Impressive tool. Sent from my Alba 10" using Tapatalk

Success! Terrano was booked in at the local garage on Saturday morning. I got the engine up to temperature nicely. MAF removed, 1/2" breaker bar with slow but firm rocking movements got the filter shifting without breaking. It took some effort mind. It turns out the filter wasn't that bad so...

Banshee, daft question but did you use any specialist tool, e.g. pipe cutter, to chop those metal pipes or was it a simple hacksaw job?
