I had a metal fan explode on my tractor once. That made a mess! If part of it snapped off because of an old crack it would throw it right out of balance and would lead to shattering as you experienced. I think I have one here somewhere if you are after a replacement.

I knew a fella that took his HGV test and failed for not using his brakes. He anticipated lights, traffic etc and never had to actually use his brakes. The examiner said he wasn't warning following traffic he was slowing down. Bonkers and caused uproar with the instructors, but true all the same.

Mate of mine did some tests on various headlight bulbs, Xenon Max came out as the brightest by a long way, brighter than some of the much more expensive bulbs.

Sounds like your free wheeling hubs were not doing what they were supposed to. Besides any legalities or environmental issues etc. I think it has been proven quite a few times that freewheeling does not save any fuel and often makes you use more. I can only guess the extra use comes from...

If you go to the supermarket and spend £100 on food, it will now cost £102.50. I don't think it will bother me as it is easy enough to cut £2.50 off the bill if I really wanted to. The VAT increase makes a lot more sense than the VAT decrease a while back, provided it gets spent wisely...

I expect the bulb is just turned on from a switch on the lever, same as the handbrake. Maybe a fault with that is why the bulb doesn't light. That wouldn't stop 4WD working though.

You don't need to take the bottom hose off, or the battery lead for that matter. There are just 3 bolts to undo and then clean off the old gasket. There wasn't an exact match of gasket in the one i got, just used the nearest fit and elongated one of the holes. Worked for me.

I was over there a few weeks ago, loads of those setups knocking about. You can hire them. I was in a campervan which was a bit less adventurous, but fantastic trip all the same. Saw one 4x4 that had a military looking trailer tent. Had a special frame that swung the boat up and top of the trailer.
