Most likely the coolant pressure has dropped, ie leak in your system, will need draining off pressure testing and recharging. Its supposed to be checked every 6months and sanitised, as aircon systems are an ideal breeding ground for nasty bugs! I can do it for you, if you are in West Wales...

Sounds like glazed pads / shoes - take them all out rub them up slightly with a bit of sand paper and put them back. Gentle braking for 50 - 100 miles should allow them to bed in. They go shiny (glazed) if overheating occurs soon after a fresh install - makes for poor stopping and more...
