    Fuel gauge not working !

Found inspection panel where it should be under carpet at rear of vehicle. Simply remove the plastic kick strip at the edge of 'boot' compartment..its held in by 5 phillips screws...this then allows you to carefully pull carpet from under side trim to expose the fuel sender inspection panel...

    Fuel gauge not working !

Thank s fellas...well it aint the fuse..its fine.. The gauge has developed a life of its own...works sometimes dont at others... I have had the instrument pod out recently to replace blown bulbs...I suppose it could be one of the two small multiplugs on the back of the pod not seated properly...

    Rear diff oil seal?

Its going to be difficult without a press m8...why not take your half shaft along to any local friendly small garage....most will have a press...I am sure that you could get the old bearing pressed out and a new one pressed in for a couple of quid...with a press it takes seconds as that youtube...

    Fuel gauge not working !

Just today my fuel gauge started playing up...just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar problems and can give me a quick solution. Symptoms are needle of gauge goes completely in the opposite direction i.e. lies at the bottom of the gauge and stays there even with ignition switched...

    high temp maverick

Personally I don't think you would hear any difference in fan noise. If you want to find out if your viscous fan is operating correctly you could try this...you need to be carefull though. When you start engine from cold the viscous coupling will not be engaged and the fan will not be...

    Rear diff oil seal?

Now that you have the shaft out inspect seals carefully to ascertain any damage. You could be fortunate and find its only the axle shaft seal....If it were only the back of the battle plate that was oil fouled I would say that was the case. What would concern me is why the brake linings have...

    AVM Manual lockers

According to the AVM website the Maverick model is 445 ... But the Terrano/Mistral model is 452 So I am not sure since a german seller of manual hubs lists the same model for both Terrano and Maverick...

    high temp maverick

Sorry m8..didn't mean to cause any offence..its was just that Andrew had posted that he was confused with members suggesting that viscous fans 'kick in'...like electric ones do.

    high temp maverick

I think you got your wires crossed there Gego m8...your explaination is incorrect...consider this ... Your vehicle has a 'large radiator' at the front of the car...its full of water which circulates around waterways in your engine to cool the metal parts down ...cos they gets hot when engine is...

    high temp maverick

Hi Rusty1 After replying to your initial post I decided to look into your overheating problem a little more by doing a search on this site for 'overheating'. Some of the previous posts I read on the subject threw up some interesting possibilities for why your engine may be overheating under...

    high temp maverick

So things are fine as far as engine temp is concerned when not under load..temp rises when towing especially when uphill...engine is working harder..revs will fall as you slow going up incline and factory fitted viscous fan will not be providing as much cooling....my inclination would be to fit...

maverick 2.7td what should i look out for?

Could also be worn UJ's on the prop to rear wheels...get under vehicle and grab hold of the prop..pull and push the prop up and down and from side to side at both ends..there should be no or very little movement...if the prop waggles about suspect UJ's. The clunking noise could also be caused...

Loss of engine power, stalling, white smoke, lots of hesitation

Hi Tom Glad you got your problem sorted out...could you describe where these two earth cables are...I want to check mine...I want to make sure they are in good order as I am about to do a 1000 mile round trip.. A pic would be superb  Thanks Mike

    maverick gearbox

Why not get your own fixed ? I reckon you might find it easier to source any parts you might need to get your own box sorted out...its got to come out anyway..maybe its already out

maverick 2.7td what should i look out for?

Look carefully at the front wings just above the plastic trim....if there is any bubbling/rust you can bet your mortgage on there being a lot more below the trim....I took my plastic trims off both wings today to investigate the small amount of bubbling...below the trim the wings were rotten...I...

    Rear diff oil seal?

Your welcome... Your assumption is correct ...to get to inner seal necessitates removing the bearing...I think the inner seal must be leaking otherwise the brake linings would not be fouled...it means axle oil is getting into the drum. Replacing both seals and bearing will cost a few...

    Rear diff oil seal?

Can I offer some encouragement with your problems. Do not be put off doing the job yourself..its not particularly difficult. The fact that the vehicle is a 4x4 makes doing this job easier not more difficult...the components are larger and in many ways more managable than the smaller components of...
