    Terrano ZD30 NADS

Just got an email to say that the valves are on their way from Darren Dawes. The needle valves had gone out of stock when my order went through and they leak test their new stock prior to dispatch.

    Brazing aluminium - aircon pipes

It's a high pressure pipe. I'm just going to seal it so it's not leaking and I can use the car without the aircon for the time being. I need the T2 on the road because both of our other cars need attention. V70 drumming auxilliary belt needs sorting otherwise it could take out the cam belt if it...

    Brazing aluminium - aircon pipes

Thanks for that TD. Runny stuff that will set might just do the job with compression fittings. The stuff I've got from plumbing use is Fernox LS-X, which is great for general use but I'm not sure about its resistance to aircon refrigerant and oil.

    Terrano ZD30 NADS

Davey Boy, I ran two core wire for both gauges from the radio supply so they both get power at ignition. The egt gauge would have needed it anyway so I just wired both up. It's interesting that the diesel specific boost gauge is a little more expensive than the others from the same range at...

    Brazing aluminium - aircon pipes

Hi Rustic, thanks for taking the time to add all that good advice and info. I can get the J B Weld delivered for about £5 so I'm now thinking hybrid repair which might become more permanent than temporary. I'll probably have a go with a couple of 8mm bog standard compression fittings to splice...

    Terrano ZD30 NADS

Thanks, if I like it there and the truck becomes a keeper I'll make a nicer looking one. Davey Boy, go to the bay of all bays for item number 222515455724.

OK, I'll give that a go. Any recommendations for brands, never used it. Cheers

    Terrano ZD30 NADS

Knocked together a box for the gauges from an old electrical appliance case. I wanted both in the same place where I could easily keep an eye on them without being distracted from the road. I also wanted the boost gauge in line of sight with the rev counter. A bit rough and ready but it will do...

    Brazing aluminium - aircon pipes

Have not found anyone to quote for TIG welding this pipe yet but one place offered to use Vulkan Lokring connectors to repair it. I got a quote from the main dealer for a new pipe for £100, although the picture of the parts was a joke with the feed and return pipes to the evaporator upside...

    I need some man hugs

.................. and Daveluck now has his very own little finger detector. Glad it's worked out for you Dave, I've yet to delve into some of the heavier engine work and the dark art of welding. :thumb2:thumb2

    Brazing aluminium - aircon pipes

Thought I'd put this here rather than in the project thread. What I thought was a leak from the washer bottle turns out to be a leak from the fluid regriferant line to the aircon that runs along the near side wheel arch below said washer bottle. The leak is near a bend in the pipe so I'm...
