    The Blue Patrol Project

Guess what! New battery turned out to be faulty:doh Installed it and wanted to check voltage on charge....12.3V..... Ok, maybe my old multimeter has gone crazy but having a small fleet of cars outside I thought I will check others. All around 14V.... Installed old battery back in....again around...

I have done a compression test to exclude any possible issues in this area. All 6 cylinders have 400+ PSI so I'm happy :D

Not sure if a pump rebuild is needed yet. I will be getting it started regardless :thumb2. It's just a pain, but...oh well it is a project and I got it for rather low price :D

Not had much time lately to look at it....Will have a look with my mechanic mate at pump timing... As for the conversion I'dlove to to that 4.2 from Patrol - rare find, 4.2 from LC or the best but the most expensive one BMW m57 3.0. I can't afford any of the above at current stage Also got a...

The plugs are new. Had to change them twice as they were burning out. I have installed a momentary switch to glow the plugs as for some reason the original system was keeping the power on constantly...hence the burning. Relay is fine, could be the timer itself, but will look into it in the...

    The Blue Patrol Project

Right. Fitted the plate on Friday (nota long job but my hands look like after the fight with a cat) and....engine did not fire up at all.... Tried next day and the same.....loads of smoke as well... Installed the old one back and Patrol started - as usual after some cranking... Read a lot on...

    The Blue Patrol Project

Following the cold start issue I am currently waiting for the pump advance plate. Not sure if you guys have heard about it. Pumps on 2.8 suffer internal wear and cause both cold and hot start issues.A lot of cranking required and a lot of smoke produced in the start up process. That's in a case...

I have also left the front ARB in the garage. Can't really say I suffer from excessive body roll so it seems to be fine. Will do the same on the rear once I get round to the rear end.
