I have changed the water temp sender and now everything is fine. Water temp and gauge at the right level :thumb2 Having the above sorted decided to use few hours on Saturday to do this:

Managed to change the stat and water temp sensor. Truck is now getting the right temp and the heating works. Gauge is showing temp close to the limit but diagnostics says around 84. Will change the gauge sensor hoping that will cure it. So overall a good result. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Well..I'm glad to hear there is a progress. As for the after glow it should not be an issue. I have my glow plugs connected on momentary switch as original system was burning them out (probably faulty glow timer).So basically there is no afterglow on my truck and there is no problems.

Right. I have managed to get some time yesterday and got some simple diagnostics done. Using 14 pin plug (Ebay) and Ecu Talk. Concerning fact is that coolant temp was just over 50 C after 20 minute drive..... So maybe new thermostat is failing. Will have to replace that probably together with...

Yes the converter cable does not work...:) Was cheap enough. Ordered one for consult II with usb to laptop...will see then.

Just got a cable Nissan 14 pin to 16 pin OBD II. Yet need to test it with obd scanner or laptop :) Read about your problem and posted :thumb2 (not that I have solved it:D)

Patrols are the best! Mine is giving me issues but I still love it :D Do not sell! How is the truck starting when warm? After getting the right temp? As for the 2.8 remap...There is no cheap option to it. I only know a good company in Poland that does some good stuff but it's a lot of money...
