Generally you will find that the thermostat activates the zone valve and subsequently a micro switch in the zone valve actually switches the boiler on.
Here's the MAF vs RPM output from my (now Ricks/Mags) 3.0L with Bosch MAF, data was harvested from ECUtalk.
I used PCB cleaning solvent designed for removing flux residue on mine with no adverse effects.
I don't recall seeing intermittent output at idle speed, but I don't think it matters much...

Vauxhall Vectra MAF is supposed to be the same Bosch MAF... might more chance of finding one of those in a breaker?
Rick, if you look carefully at the speedo face you can see that the speedo needle balance weight is just binding on the face. I think this is due to the black face not being completely flat. The characteristics of "sticking" change with ambient temperature, presumably as the plastic...
I its one of my MAF-AMPs then 5V is not required, the AMP derives it power from the +12V as shown in the diagram.
The output directly from the MAF sensor will be in the range of +1.2V ~ 4.8V, this is fed to the input of the MAF-AMP. The gain of the amplifier when set to unity should make the...
The relevant paperwork is the Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), within this there will be a section headed "Schedule of test results for the installation" this is a record of the test results for ALL circuits supplied from the C.U. This testing and documentation is mandatory for the...
The instrument you need to test the integrity of the wiring and connections is a loop tester. This works by passing a very short duration load (~20A) on the circuit under test and measures the "loop impedance".
A quick scout on ebay shows plenty for sale. This is the model I have...
Distance wise, ethernet is OK with Cat5e/Cat6 to a maximum of 100M.
Are you going to fit the connectors to the Cat6 cable yourself? or buy a ready made cable?
If you fit your own connectors the cable should easily pass through an 8mm hole, with the 8P8C connector fitted its more like 16mm.
The...
This is the problem I was suggesting in your other ISP thread.
These powerline type ethernet adaptors use a similar principle to send data between the two units as your BT VDSL internet connection
.
If the output from these units manages to "stray" onto your phone wiring it will likely impact...
Good spot on the fuel Rick, I think many among us would have struggled to diagnose that a fast as you have done.
I wonder if "whatever" else was in the fuel managed to dislodge some accumulation of crud in the tank?
If you are using powerline ethernet adaptors these have been shown to play havoc with the VDSL/DMT connection you now have. I would advise not having them powered on for the first 14 days of service and one the stable norms are established, then reconnect them and check for VDSL line impact.
I...
There is a Chinese diesel heater group on FB:
"Chinese Diesel Vehicle air heaters" there are many useful user comments experiences here.
I have had no direct experience with the Chinese products.
There are principally two common types of Eberspacher vehicle heaters; the D2 and D5. The D2 is...
