What model have I ??
I have just got a 2002 T2 LWB 5 door. There are no model marks such as S SE on the V5 or on the car. All it says on the back door is 2.7TDintercooler. My insurer claims by the number plate its a van and I must have commercial insurance. Eventually they agreed to give me a cover note for a 2.7 SE+. Ouch!!
Can anyone tell me how I can find what model it is so I can get the insurance right. David. |

Ring a Nissan dealer they should be able to tell you precisely what it is from the chassis number. There were no LWB commercials (vans) so its not one of those unless its a ringer.

well, its not a bloody van thats for sure!! commercial licence indeed, what a bunch of monkeys!
anyway, try this from the Parkers wbsite-from that, i dont think its an SE+ or even an SE... Launched in July '93, Terrano comes as three-door SWB or five-door LWB Station Wagon with switchable two/four-wheel drive and a high/low ratio transfer box. The initial choice of engines was between 2.4 petrol and 100bhp 2.7 turbo-diesel units. The TD LX is the spartan model, with just a split rear seat and an adjustable steering column. SLX models add central locking, electric windows, mirrors, sunroof and aerial, side steps, and a third row of seats on the LWB. SGX models add alloy wheels, black roof rails and air-conditioning. The first major revisions were in June 95. All models gained black interior trim and black roof pillars. SLX models gained body-coloured bumpers and a height/lumbar adjustable driver’s seat. New top spec SE models add body-coloured mirrors, alloy wheels, special seat fabric and trim, wood trim dash, front fog lights, and (from November '97) alloy wheels. Three-door models have lower suspension. The range was revised again in July '96, when the uprated 125bhp TDi engine replaced the previous TD. All models had revised bonnet and grille, new bumpers, wider wheel arches, improved door locking and upgraded audio and trim. Trim levels were designated S, SR, and SE. The S has black bumpers, fog lights and a split folding rear seat. SR models add an electric tilt/slide sunroof, black electric/heated door mirrors, body-coloured door valances and upgraded interior and instruments. The SR Sport has alloy wheels, and SE models gain two-tone paintwork. SE Touring has a third row of seats, and metallic or pearlescent paint as standard from November '97. New generation (Nov '99), mechanically similar with restyling, uprated specs. ABS on SE models, and improved security. Range revisions in April '02, when 3.0 Di was added. S has ABS with EBD, passenger airbag, CD player; SE adds side airbags, 16in alloy wheels, CD player, audio controls on steering column. New SVE also has leather trim, six-CD autochanger, active front head restraints. Range was slimmed to just two engines (2.7TD and 3.0 Di). All have air-con, electric windows, door mirrors, CD player with steering wheel remote and a third row bench seat (five-door only). SVE adds an electric glass sunroof, roof-rails, leather upholstery, a CD autochanger, heated front seats and headlamp washers. |

The vehicle details for NL52 OXF are:
Date of Liability 01 01 2011 Date of First Registration 14 10 2002 Year of Manufacture 2002 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2664CC CO2 Emissions 263g/Km Fuel Type Heavy Oil Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour BLUE Vehicle Type Approval M1 Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle 6 Months Rate £134.75 12 Months Rate £245.00 -------------------------------------------- I done a check on mine and the only thing different is the vehicle type approval, mine is blank and yours shows M1 tons of info here about as clear as mud though: http://www.vca.gov.uk/vehicletype/index.asp I tried reading a load but my eyes went all blurry the manufacturer applied, and attained, type approval in the appropriate category for the vehicles engine size, construction, weight and speed, in this case M1, which is described in the type approval regulations as a light passenger vehicle (i.e. a vehicle with at least 4 wheels used for the carriage of passengers and compromising no more than eight seats in addition to the driver's seat, having a mass not exceeding 3.5 tonnes). As this vehicle was presented for registration on the basis of having been type approved in the M1 category, with a CO2 emissions figure specified in terms of grams per kilometre, it falls to be licensed in the Graduated VED scheme paying duty according to it's CO2 figure and the type of fuel used after reading a bit more I reckon the M1 type is just a EU thing |

I too think its a basic model, no heated seats or passenger airbag.
Looking through past bills from the first owner I've found his phone number and will give him a ring . He seems to have spent a small fortune on service and repairs. I've also looked at DVLA and VCA sites but much more than I already know. David. |
