Default collected terrano

picked up the terrano tonight, on the way home, noticed the steering wheel vibrating at speed? got it home and had a look around, the passenger side front wheel has slight movement on it when you push it in and out, all the other wheels seem solid, could it be a ball joint gone???, i know i'm not paid up yet, but any help is greatly appriciated.

loose wheel nuts?

when i bough tmine, chap didnt tighten them up....!!!

If it's moving side to side then it's very likely steering idler arm bushes and possibly the control arm ball joints. I've got specially made idler bushes if you need.
If the top of the wheel can be moved easily on the ground then check bearing and poss wheel nuts

But bearing play is a very common fault....online manual shows how to fix it....

just had the garage on the phone, the only thing they could find was a knackered front tyre
that will do me, he saw what i meant about play on front wheel but said it was nothing, all joints etc are fine, hopefully out for a long run over the weekend, thanks for all your replies and suggestions, nice to know there is someone there when things go pear shaped

Ah but what caused the tyre to become pear shaped is the question to which an answer must be found it is , rubs chin and ponders, weak is the force in this one , beware the nearside idler young tintin

previous owner believed in using part worn tyres???
any way decided on 2 new tyres which are going on the back, and rotaing the older 2 onto the front, was going to go for 4 new ones, garage said the 2 remaining tyres have loads of life left. Once they're all inflated and balanced properly, i'll see how she runs and keep a watchfull eye on tyre wear.
One question master yoda, what is nearside idler?? and what would be the symptons of this being knackered??

It's the steering idler, a small pivoting arm that relays the steering from the drivers side.
There's a couple of bushes in it that often wear and allow extra slop in the offside wheel.
If you can get a mate to push the wheel side to side while you look underneath then you'll easily spy the fault if it's there.
