Willow, I love driving my T2 on decent trips. You just need to get in a certain frame of mind
I've just done Chelmsford and back (600 miles) last week in an 08 Vectra sri with all the bells and whistles. Its well fast but to be honest in all the heavy traffic makes no odds and the armchairs , air con and 6 cd changer in my T2 are far better Do the MOT the way I do, deal with all the obvious things you can fathom out then lob it in for test as a type of diagnostic service Good luck |

Basically with regards to the third row if it aint there it cant be tested. If it is they should look at it (thats from an ex mot'er now a vosa examiner ) I was a bit concerned in case I got a fail because they weren't there and the belts that were couldn't be tested.
I was worried as the docs say 7 seater but I leave the third row permanently out but the inertia reels are still there................confused .....I was. I left the third row out for MOT got no comments but the boot liner and my junk had been moved out of the way so I guess he checked general condition and operation of what was there though not use because he couldnt |

If you really don't use your third row of seats, (i) it makes a great shed seat (!), and (ii) its dead easy to remove the seat belts - just take out the one visible bolt on each and cut the belt, the rest will retract into the boot sides.
You can also remove the two floor mountings easily, just two bolts on each I think and they go into an internal void so not open to the air below....thats if you want them out of the way..! |
