Default Provent Catch Can Modification

Today, I eventually got round to making a video about my Provent 200, its modification & how much oil it caught after 1000 miles.

Hope you enjoy.

Interesting video Jay, cheers. Have been thinking about catch can for my 3 litre but not sure how long I’ll be keeping the truck.

Another great vid
That'll be why some folk run it back into the sump then. Doesn't answer the question as to why so much though.

Indeed... Hopefully I will get to the bottom of it.

But it does look well enough to go back to the sump. I've seen some videos where it comes out really watery!

I wouldn't bother Jim, the Provent I put on my T2 is hanging up in the garage at the moment. It caught oil, but not a lot.

Cheers,

Mick

Just watched it, damn Jay!!!! That's a lot of oil after 1000 miles!!!!

I'll empty mine tomorrow as I'll have done about 1200 since I last emptied it so you'll have a comparison, I've got to be honest mate, mines usually a few ml at most of water and oil mixed in layers

Just pulled mine off and put it aside for later on, seems I don't have any water this time just pure oil

Nowhere near as much as yours though, when I'm clean enough to go back in the house later, I'll nick a Pyrex and snap a pic for you, I was wrong as well btw, I've somehow done 2300 miles roughly since I last emptied it

2.7TDi in Terrance matey, fitted the catch can at the same time the new turbo went on. Blocked the inlet pipe hole up with a bolt and washer combo and don't feed to the sump anymore.
