Nice one zippy when I graduated I received my Degree " In Absentia" it was only many years later that I learn how disappointed my father was at being unable able to attend the ceremony.

I don't like formal occasions so refused to attend in person plus the cost of hiring the Cap & Gown put me off as I was skint. I thought it was socially divisive to charge so much for the hire back in the 1970's - Certificate was sent in the post - now it's too late I realise how selfish it was of me.

She is to be congratulated on her hard work and selflessness.

Congratulations great to see. We are just at the beginning of this journey going around several open days, Liverpool last week, Chester this and another one in a couple of weeks. Wish that I’d of had this sort of chance when I was young.

Sincere congratulations Steve and to your daughter of course.....

Mac don't beat yourself up... My daughter graduated because of her hard work, living in a landlords shit pit for three years in London, and having the students grant to help her/us pay for it.
You made what must have been a tough choice at the time, not to attend.

We have only one formal photograph of my daughter receiving her award as we were taking a video of her best friend receiving his award instead. My wife is still upset that we missed her arrival on stage to collect hers...
