Default Nice sunny weather with music !

I recently bought the re-mixed Anniversary Edition version of Sgt Pepper produced by Giles Martin.

At last a great album now in stereo and it does sound much cleaner than the original especially with the volume pumped up on my rather old Hi-Fi system built up over a ten year period the last item a power supply for the CD transport being added in 2001.

Thumbs up Turntable in the loft !

I have a turntable circa 1979 its a direct drive Pioneer with separate motor for platter and pick up arm with a decent pick up but not a coil one. My Digital Receiver is also in the loft as it does not have auto-tune as I could not afford the Cyrus Tuner .

Luckily when I bought the Cyrus Pre-amp Phone input was still standard but TBH I tend to play mainly CD's or run the TV through the system if it's a good film. I initially just had one amplifier and over the years added a second amplifier and had the outputs changed so they were bi-amps with 100W on each channel giving a genuine 200W stereo output.

Then over a period of 4 more years bought a power supply for each unit in turn. The Cyrus CD had a fancy upgrade back in the day.

I used to have some huge floor standing Mission 3-way speakers that were so big the Wife called them Dalecks ! Now have much more compact Bose Accoustamass 5's with sub-woofer. Now my hearing is so poor I can't really tell my system from my much cheaper all in one Denon tuner/CD/amp that we have in our Conseravtory.

I used to love my Hi-Fi but these days it rarely get used. I have told the wife my Cyrus System might be worth a few bob when I have kicked the bucket but stupidly I binned the boxes a few years back to make space in the loft.

P.S. My hearing loss was as a result of Measles when I was a kid not playing Heavy Metal.

My hearing loss is very much gig related. I used to do PA for local bands when I was an oik 🤣
My love of music stayed and I am most green looking at your impressive stack 😲
I still use my Rega 3 a bit and pump out the choons. Had great fun a few years ago fitting my speakers into solid walls. Also ran stupidly expensive interconnects under floor (solid) in conduit for that wireless look.
Keep it up mate but louder 😎

A Kiwi I used to work with about 25 years ago got me into Hi-Fi when I went to his pad to see his pet Tarantula !

He happened to have a Pink Triangle Turntable and his system back then was a Naim Amp System. He also demonstrated the difference in sound by just upgrading interconnects.

After about 8 years in the UK he went back to N.Z. and although he took his main system back home my brother bought his original Cyrus Amp and I bought a load of soild wire interconnects at bargain prices.

His vinyl souded better than any CD based system I had ever heard. He did have a CD unit but can't remember the make. It was a transport only with separate DAC. It was a French make methinks. Memories eh.....
