Well I've worked really hard today sealing the underside of the truck, I think I'm probably 85% done one more nice day and that will be it, I never realised how much hard work it was being under the truck and painting! Anyway a few pics for you,
 
Hey looking good indeed dude! Very satisfying once finished.

A quick tip if you have any more to do, the rear wheel arches curve in on themselves and trap mud in there, put your hand in and face fingers out, I bet lots of mud falls out, once clean slap a load of paint in there :thumb2
 
Got this to do over the next couple of weeks & going to spray the sill in stone chip aswell:augie might be nothing but you have a damp patch on the O/S of the plastic tank guard by the looks of it if it's fuel then the fuel lines from the tank might have sprung a leak:doh

Yep it's fuel I changed the tank because of it but still it leaks, got to be honest I've just lived with it hahaha but that has to be a next job 👍😉

Literally a tonne and a half fell out hahaha well a lot anyway I couldn't believe it, i pressure washer the inside of the arches too, to try and stop that happening 😭

Wicked good one dude, I didn't realise for ages there was another hidden crevis further inside the plastic arches :eek:
 
I've used tetroseal I was going to use waxoil but this seamed thicker which I liked
 
I give mine a good blast once a year.
After having my 2001 model and being amazed at how rusty it was, I also poor oil into the rear wheel arch area, this gets down into the area at the rear of the cill and mine is still solid...unlike the old 2001 model I had ;)
 
Looking tidy! How did you apply the stuff, spray or brush on?
Have this on my list for April as well, just need to find a place where I can do it. In the garage is a big no-no (Mrs fears for the floor), and parked next to the road is not very safe where we live.
Nice weather, in my parents garden or so, maybe...
 
To protect the garage floor, I either use card board, or if I'm wire brushing, or waxoyling, I use a mortar mixing board from Wickes, around a metre square.
It's tough reinforced ruberised material, and you can move it as you go, doesn't blow away in the wind, holds a few gallons of fluid too, so ok for oil changes, just in case of splashes, or when changing coolant.
Also handy for paint stripping items, or painting.
It power washes easily, and you can use it for mixing cement mortar too.:thumb2

I recon Wickes have sold loads of these to LR owners as drip trays, as long as the level is checked regularly lol :augie
 
Used tetroseal on mine last year but it was a bit of a pig to apply with it being so think had to put the tin in a tub of hot water to soften it up so I could brush it on:augie going to use waxoil this year to freshen it up & just sprayed my sills with black stone chip today & the truck looks much better to me as the silver sills looked silly below the dark grey door mouldings:doh
