We are planning to move home soon, it will increase my commute from 12 miles each way to about 45/50 each way.

My old girl (xj600s) might not be cut out for such long trips anymore, she's getting on a bit. I will never get rid of her, but she could be a weekend bike.

I was planning to try and get hold of an xj900s.

I know a fair bit about these bikes, the 900 is shaft driven so no chain maintenance. Anyone got any experience with em?

I had a Honda CX 650 Eurosport, that had shaft drive and was a smooth ride.
Where are you moving to Alex ??

Currently in northolt and we are moving to biggleswade Bedfordshire area.

I've currently got the 600s 1998 and she's on 52,000 hasn't missed a beat

I don't really do leather, I'm not the right shape if you catch my drift
