Where are you from?
So I was wondering about this, quite an interesting topic I think.
Where does everyone originate from, birth and blood? I was born in devon as a little country boy, by the age of 3 I had moved to Ealing and then to ruislip for the majority of my life, now in northolt with my partner of 5 years and I miss the countryside My blood is a weird mix, English, Irish, Scottish and I think Devonshire counts too C'mon all, spill the beans |

Well i've lived in SE Northumberland almost all of my life & apart from about 3.5 years i've lived in my home town Lived in Newcastle for about 6 months after moving out of the family home before moving to Blyth in Northumberland where I lived for 3 years then got married & back to my home town of Cramlington. My bloodline is 75% English & 25% Welsh (Grandad was born in Wales but the family moved to England when he was very young) TBH like the town we're in as we're surrounded by fields & woods & only 5 miles off the sea but have the A19 & A1 to the south & west of the town

Naturalized British when I was 12 years old
Well in 1947 my Mum who was Austrian worked in the NAFFI canteen in Klagenfurt that was occupied by the British Army on the Rhine.
My biological father was a Lance Corporal Albert Edward Dean who was posted initially to Italy and then to Austria where he was an Army Cook in the Catering Core. I was the product of their short relationship unfortunately my father caught Tuberculosis and died in Prestwood Sanatorium in 1948 when I was 5 months old. Its a long story but when I was 5 years of age my Mum who had raised me as a single parent managed to get us both into the UK. She later married my step father thereby obtaining British Citizenship through marriage. I applied for British Citizenship when I was 12 years of age. I am returning to Austria for a holiday in July to return my mothers ashes to her home village where I have a cousin Heidi. The little German I speak is as a result of taking a course in spoken German whilst at Bradford University 1967-71 reading Chemical Engineering. I worked in Krefeld in what was West Germany in 1969/70 as a part of my degree course. I have a Derbyshire Accent having lived in the County since 1953 I see myself as British in every sense of the word but if England played Austria at football I would have to support Austria on the sneak! |

I have Irish, English and I think some Jewish blood in me, although, not 100% sure about the Jewish bit as my mum is dead (god bless her). I was born in Reading and go past the house I was born in, most days. We moved to High Wycombe and now live in a local village |

Having said that, I think it could do with a bit of pruning, as many people on it, are no longer members unfortunately. |

Zippy comes up as non-member so dont think he will be able get PM's. The map was good for seeing who's near you when you need sympathy or hand with a job. David.

I was born in Chiswick,London in 1963,my older brother and sister also.My mum came to the UK from New Zealand in 1935 after their family home burnt down.My mums mum was originally English and was a volunteer visitor at a convalescence hospital in Walton-on-Thames for injured New Zealand servicemen from the 1st World War.She met her husband,my grandad when he was brought to the UK after being injured in battle in Alexandria,he was a New Zealand cavalryman. They married and emigrated to New Zealand where they raised 4 girls until the fire.
My dad was from Merthyr Tydfil, the youngest boy from a mining family. He and my mum married and moved to Ashford,Middlesex. My dad died when I was 8 so my mum raised us on her own.She still lives there,my brother lives not far from her,my sister in Spain and myself now in a place called Pineuilh in the Gironde,SW France with my 2nd wife and my 2 daughters, et voila! |
