Vacuum wipers
anyone else remember these, Rick

Ex banger racer now off road maniac Lokka on the front with manual hubs Diff lock on rear 3 inch SS straight through exhaust Manly winch bumper with 13000 lb winch 10 spike ground anchor, with multiple straps and blocks Super strong body cills capped with scaffold pole 20% stronger springs all round aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap. Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare. |

Ruddy aweful things. A friend of mine in school had an old ford anglia or something (pre Harry Potter style one) and the wipers on that ran off the spare tyre |

had air wipers on a bus. bloody awful west midlands fleetlines, their cast off scrap
adopted by post de regulaion operators. little air motor sounding off few inches in front of your face all shift. trying to regulate to point easier to look through rain on screen than use em.

My father used to drive the steam trains, and when he went over to diesel, some of these had air powered wipers.
I don't know what the advantage was, I can only assume reliability over electric ones, I assume you can stall them without anything burning out.
