shat on
as title says having been shat on by a member on here I am feeling less than agreeable, sent goods free of charge requesting return of unused item asking only for cost of post, but now I am missing two parts and am down on post and packing cost, OK lesson learnt, money up front in future, just trying to help keep a member on the road at shortest possible time and what do you get, shafted, Rick

no will not do that, he might be really hard up, but if he said so at the time I would probably sent him the stuff anyway, what I do not like is the posts that he made that he has paid for his stuff when he had not, Rick

Name & Shame
Some people exploit the good nature of others without a conscience.
If you name the member who broke his word it might stop them ripping someone else off ? |

Totally agree with all the preceding comments - the club doesn't need members like him (assuming it is a him!)

Maybe the member has over looked it, and a cheque is winging it's way to you.
Yeah right... The problem with this episode is that, I like many have had free offers of help. Members willing to go to dismantlers close by them to get parts for me and even drop them off. I wouldn't see them out of pocket, even if they won't accept cash, we always have a bottle or two handy.. Did I say they were full though ...? It certainly leaves a sour taste in the mouth. However, the majority of the members on this site are like minded and will continue to help each other, and I guess Rick will too, but as they say once bitten... Don't forget we are a helpful club... There are many members who still pay to be a member of this site, even though they are Nissanless and regularly post advice to other members, just because of the comradeship between strangers. I have never found a site more helpful and friendly. I know that Rick, (like many other members on here) has also given his time and comfort to even leave the house to go rooting in his workshop for parts or sizes of items at midnight or even later. I have done the same but as my garage is integral, I can pop out in my dressing gown... Like any group of individuals, people come from all walks of life, and as a consequence have a mix of people with differing morals. At this point I would also like to thank the " armchair " members, what I mean by that, is those that spend time researching information, data from manuals, searching ebay for parts, searching past posts and links to them, those that have strong opinions on issues particularly health and safety. Also thanks to those members who have taken time to post pictures and procedures This is what helps to make a strong foundation for the club. Going forward.. Let's not let this one off incident, sour the taste of what is one of the best forums around. Best regards, Richard (Rustic).

I wondered if you checked old threads, you would be able to identify the person, but as Rick doesn't want to give their details, best leave it there.
It's very annoying when this happens, "it only takes one bad apple" as they say. When I 1st read the thread, I thought Rick had had a run in with a cow or something, and it reminds me of a summer, sat in my dads garden and him saying how nice it was to see a pigeon sat in the tree above us.....until the dirty bleeder shat on him Sorry to hear about this episode Rick, just remember, we are not all like this mate and as mentioned already, most will help out where they can. |

That is sad... but people do seem to be more up for taking the mickey out of kindness in this day and age, and I guess that this forum lulls you into a false sense of security. Everyone is so friendly, you feel you know all the people on here, and then by association as everyone on here is so nice, all Nissan drivers, even former ones, must be nice people...
Don't let it taint you Rick, part of what makes you, you... is your are a friendly face and voice in a big scary world, and there are not many of your sort left. 3 weeks ago, I sold a small tyre on Fleabay, and put in the ad, in several places that it was for "local pick up only". It sold for £5... The guy then sent an Email saying he would pick it up on the way past, on December the 24th.... I kindly explained that I would not be here then... Anyway, long story short, after trying to get me to drop it off at a friends, 12 mile away, and somewhere we are very unlikely to ever pass, and then a couple of, waiting in for his friend to pick it up, he has now paid me via PayPal, and I have to wait in from 8am to 8pm today, for his courier to pick it up... The thing is, I was expecting him to pay cash when he picked it up, so now, not only have I had to pay Ebay for selling it, but will have to pay Paypal to get my money... I have been messed around, and I am sure it has actually cost me more than I sold it for... Some people are just messers... |

I am sorry to hear that your generosity has potentially been abused by another member on this site, however your reluctance to identify the individual displays a great deal of class, which I stand in admiration of. Without wanting to sound sycophantic, I have always been grateful for your contribution to this forum, and the skills that you readily and willingly impart to us lesser 'mechanically minded' mortals... I hope this wont mean your presence on the site reduced, and finally I would be more than happy to make a contribution, as imagine others would, to help mitigate your losses. With Regards Alan |
