Default open front door

Just wondered how many on here can go to bed with the front door wide open, I am tonight and do so regular when it is hot, yes we have dogs but only pups 6 months and 8 months, so no great deterrent, but the point is we do not need the deterrent, Rick

If we left the front door open, the ferrets would get out and terrorise our neighbours..... we have gone out for the day early, both thinking the other has shut the front door, and got back late at night with it still wide open, and nothing missing, and on many occasions I have gone to bed leaving the garage wide open.

we could, but don't. Only takes one, there was a instance a few years back someone local high on his mothers anti depressants was going door to door and doing odd things. Nothing serious but it shook a few people up. ha

We don't have any dogs.

I could except my door shuts its self plus with the neighbours that moved in upthe stairs & the mentally ill woman nxt door I won't, I do have a bad habit of not locking my car tho & always have, never had nowt nicked.

My gran in canada doesn't lock the door cos the one time she did she got robbed so doesn't now.

I do have a dog but she's too soft/dipit to protect anything.

We could leave the back door open as we do during the day but if we left it open during the night, cats will get in and my dog will kill them as he does

I did the other night, unlocked the door with my keys, left them in the door, with the keys to my 06 plate Mercedes hanging from the door, all night.

Still there in the morning, but could i find them, turned the house upside down looking for them

TBH i would'nt dream of leaving doors unlocked.Doors locked Alarm on CCTV always on.Not sure what your insurance company would say(If you have any)If anything went missing and no sign of forced entry. But i understand your reason for doing so.

Keys you say, hmmm, yes we do have ONE for the front door but always leave it in the porch
Porch is always open , deliveries get left in there or in the hall if they won't fit
Back doors and patio doors often left open when it's hot, but no keys
We did once lock the front door as we were going away for a few days, but hadn't realised that my son's girlfriend was still at home
When she got up she had to escape out the front window (sash) and get back in using the key in the porch
Ya can't beat life in the sticks

Hmm interesting, and you all live where?

....Only kidding!

We have an alarm, CCTV an outer, and inner door and lock the front gate all the time once the postie has been. If your not invited, your not welcome.

Regards

Alan
