Deicer stuck under the brake pedal

Driving to work this morning, and coming round a bend into the car park, a stupid person in a very small car came hurtling round the bend, so I braked hard and my de icer that WAS on the back seat rolled off onto the floor, under the drivers seat and lodged itself under the brake pedal! I thought all my birthdays had come at once, luckily I had stopped in time, not a wave, acknowledgement nothing..... why are there so many stupid drivers on the road these days, oh and the moral of the story.... don't put your de icer can on the back seat

Tut tut, loose stuff in the 4x4 = OOPS

1st time I went offroading I got covered in dashboard crap and my tool box made it all the way from the back to the front

Since then I always try and keep stuff strapped down

Easier said than done for sure, so I've made specific places round the truck for stuff to be

Glad you got away with it

Bit scary really because at first you have no idea why the brake pedal won't press.... problem is there are lots of cars parked on the side of the road at the entrance to the car park and on the bend, I always take it steady round this corner because you can't help being in the middle of the road at the blind spot... you always get some idiot racing round the bend oblivious to the room and on coming traffic... Yes would have been sacrificial if I had dented my Misty!

scary stuff mate, glad youre ok! its odd though..im sure in my Maverick, there was a lip under the seat-to stop things rolling from under it? Mine was a 97...

anyway, yeah, you have to watch out for the nobheads on the road-if you see his car again, take note of how flat his tyres are

Reminds me of a time many years ago when I was requested to hold the "Tapley meter" on a brake test with the senior fitter in a Mini in for MOT (in those days we had a deceleration meter on the passenger floor, but many times it would fall over so a passenger was needed, me!) however on this occasion Ted's shoe laces were loose and got trapped in the door, he was able to reach the throttle but when he said hold tight and nothing happened other than some garage expletives, luckily as this was a test on a clear road there were no repercussions, he knocked it out of gear and used his left foot on the brake, Rick

mines got a lip under the seats it is a 96 also under the drivers side theres a box. don't know what that is think my be ecu

Reminds me of an incident years ago when I was driving down a lane and the car in front ran over and killed a pheasant.
As I went past, the bird looked in good nick, so I stopped and picked it up.
I threw it in back of my estate car and carried on.
Half an hour later I joined the M6 southbound and just as I got up to "cruising speed" (about 85mph) something hit the windscreen, from the inside!
It was the bloody pheasant!
And when I say "Bloody" pheasant, I mean soaked and pouring with blood!
It was all over the screen, dash, everywhere, I couldn't see a damn thing, meanwhile, I'm punching out at this half dead bird that had somehow revived itself. I tell you, there was so much blood, you'd have thought I had just slaughtered a full grown Pig!
I managed to get over to the hard shoulder, opened the door and the pheasant shot out straight out into the middle lane and was subsequently squished under the wheels of an artic!
Needless to say, I've never stopped to pick up a pheasant since!
And, I never bother breaking if theres one in the road either, just run the bugger over and don't look back. Too many accidents caused by rabbits, cats and birds in road, my family means more than that!

Ha you'd have fun round here then, I must pass 10 every morning on my way to work but I find pigeons the worst, they just sit in the road and when you approach them they tend to fly directly into you, one of these days the stupid birds will actually hit me....

My mate hit a large deer at 100mph, it ran out on Cannock chase in the darkness. Apparently it exploded and passengers had guts and bone in their mouths and all sorts, car was a total right off the front of the roof caved In

I'm Sorry, but as an ex Gamekeeper & Deer Stalker I'll blame the idiot driver!
I'd have to say that 100mph on Cannock Chase is totally f***ing Stupid!
Everyone knows the area is FULL of deer, some of them are Reds up to 300lbs, plus, I know there are suitable speed limits all over the area to stop such stupid behavior. My sympathies are with the Deer.

If you'd ever been called out to an RTA involving Deer and had to put down a pregnant Doe and two young bucks all trying to get up and run away on multiple broken legs just because some pathetic arsehole can't keep to a reasonable speed, then maybe you might understand.

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.
