yep, we asked 2 elderly neighbours, we were going out anyway, so even more of an excuse to go out in the snow.
The snow in our area is a foot deep, went out twice and at 9:00 pm the roads were starting to freeze over, I'm not sure salt will make much difference to the surface, as there are not many cars about. As I type, the snow is coming down again, road and my drive white over again. I tried the mav in two wheel drive on a snow packed carpark, yep the 4 wheel drive and the auto hubs are really working, in two wheel drive the rear end tries to wiggle a lot but not when 4 high engaged. These trucks are brilliant. When we went out earlier on to the M6 near J 10 we saw a dead land rover on the back of a tow truck, looked like it had been in a ditch, and then on the opposite carriage way heading north, was a Blue Land Rover Discovery on the hard shoulder waiting for a tow truck. What is up with these vehicles?

When I first started driving, a 10 year old car was called a "Banger", and you rarely saw a car older than about 5 years old (down this way, anyway), but now you are seeing more and more cars that are 10 to 15 years old in daily use, but less and less people who are capable of carrying out even the most basic home maintenance on them. |

very true, been talking to the garages about this. The garage down our road, make more money now from picking up broken down vehicles, than they do FIXING them...

And they were bangers too. Fred Flintstone cars were all the rage, ie holes in the floor you could put your feet through. So where do I stand with a pristine 18 year old with a ventilated fuel tank: When I get the tank sorted, the mot, etc then I will revisit with the waxoyl again. Rustic
